McRen,

If this is for fun then ok. If I just misunderstood your post and aggravated you then sorry lets start again.

What do you drive?

The black MR2 is supposed to be pretty quick but I've never seen it run. I know it's had a lot spent on it.

FWIW I go along with those who recommend Rodney Howell but I haven't personally used him. I know he's a good bloke with a good reputation. The MR2 looks pretty trick from what I've seen.

Specialist also have a good reputation but again I haven't used them. Boccino's have done good work on a previous car for me but I don't know how many Japanese cars they do, I think they're more European oriented (correct me if I'm wrong anyone).

I currently use the business I use because I've been friends with the owners for a while.

Tim.

Regarding the gearbox thing.

I have broken 2 or 3... or 4 gearboxes in the WRX. <8-(

Hopefully that's fixed now.

Nissan and Toyota seem to have managed to make decent strength boxes so I don't know why it's taken so long for Subaru.

Has anybody on this forum used the Apexi Power FC on a Skyline? If so do you have an English manual for one (R33 GTR would be nice)? I have one for an RX7 but I assume there may be some differences in the software that may be of interest.

Tim.

The mate with the skyline is a guy from motors his car is a red and silver skyline r30. he bought it from a guy at mole creek and the only problem is its an auto. Only mod is a podfilter. Their are now three skylines parked outside motors 2X R30 and 1X R31.

Cheers lavers

Thanks for the reply on the Apexi Manual. I have tried there but can't seem to get to a manual for the controller. It shouldn't be a problem, the RX7 one is a great help anyway. I'll have two Japanese people staying with me in a week so I'll ask them to translate for me. :-)

I should be getting the Apexi installed on the GTR in the next few days.

It was nice to meet you Wogboy. Nice car and a great result!

The intercooler setup is a credit to you. Makes me wish I wasn't so lazy.

Yeah, pretty pumped. Saw quite a few R33 GTST's while in Hobart , 3 white ones, 2 wine red ones and one black one. Did any of these belong to you guys? It was good to have a yarn to you Roaldin, I could spend all my time fidling with my R33 (though the Missus disapproves) Hope to catch up again someday.

Wogboy

Sorry guys, I have been very busy lately and therefore was not able to get on the fourms to moderate.

Mcren, this forum is meant for peaceful chat between people with a mutual interest: cars. I am not one to supress friendly rivalry or different opinions, but your intentions are clearly inflammatory. Keep it inoffensive thank you, so we can all enjoy the forum.

Nizmokid, look in your PM box, as I have sent you a message re your reply.

Have fun.

    • I've heard the Tomei USA head gaskets are decent if you want to o-ring the heads but otherwise not recommended.
    • The 296mm rotors are the R33 turbo brakes. The 310mm rotors are the R34 turbo brakes. The calipers are nearly the same, but not. They're the same caliper but the R34 caliper has longer legs so that it sits out far enough to go over the rotor. The pads are the same for both. When you say, "I bough tsome EBC"....did you just mean pads? Or rotors? 310mm rotors fit under 17" wheels. There may be some wheels without enough clearance though. I can't fit my fingers between the barrel of my wheel and the "corners" of my R34 calipers, but there is plenty of room behind the spokes. This is on Enkei RPF1. You can fit 324mm rotors inside a 17" wheel, but I'd be willing to bet that it would be close to impossible with the Nissan/Sumitomo caliper (using an adapter, of course), because the Sumitomo caliper is fatter than the Brembo caliper that is supposed to go on the 324mm rotors.
    • Hi. Can someone tell me what brakes(and mainly WHERE) can i buy brakes on R34 GTT? I bought some EBC which SHOULD go on my car(i have GT but it has GTT brakes) but it does not fit, Brakes are "too" small(296mm) Are 310mm be good or? I have 17 inch wheel so no "big boys" but for me driving i just need one that fits and i can get here in EU/Czech.
    • Since winter isn't that harsh anymore in Poland, i will definetely drive it 365 days a year 😉. But if the snow hits i will try it for sure and let U know. Only swap i am planning to do is of course R34 GTR front 😍.
    • Hey. Very valuable information about pitwork, I will pay attention when buying any consumable parts 🙏 As for the carpets - I got a handful of information from nengun, from which it appears that indeed the carpets for the driver's side are OEM. They are not able to show me any pictures due to the long chain of different sales entities but after I place the order, as soon as the goods arrive at the nengun warehouse from which they will send the shipment to me they can send me photos and if my purchase differs from OEM I can immediately return it / cancel the purchase. I think I will give it a try 😉. Of course i'll let you know what's what as soon as i get them P.s. I know the topic is not relevant to the thread, but both nengun and amayama have these SICK 😍 trunk room lamps available. Do you know anyone who ordered them? I need to have one in my car
