Hi,

I''ve just received my nismo rear sway bar, unfortunately i wasn't again to get a front one :) My question is if i install the rear nismo one and run the stock front one, will this have any affect on the car?

Im doing MC in a few weeks and dont want to make the car unbalance but if its going to help improve my handling then i will throw it in

Cheers Michael

Short answer; yes. The car will be more inclined to oversteer with a bigger rear bar and stock front bar.

If it didn't have an affect it would be a waste of money after all :)

It's a half hour job to swap the bar (in a 32 atleast) chuck it in go for a drive at 7/10ths and see what it does. If you dont like it, swap it back.

hahahh i actually installed a thicker rear sway bar last night with still standard stock front one..

I must say, i could feel the difference immediately in terms of better handling!!

I also got adjustable castor rods on the front.. Atm for normal street driving (on stock suspension-rear leaking lol), the handling is so much better..

Havnt really really pushed it yet, but will do so on the track day in 2 weeks time..

But for normal street driving, you wont feel much difference if you got thicker on the rear and standard on front.. Thats what i feel anyways, unless you doing like 80 plus around a corner or something..

I just put on the standard Whiteline rear and front bars and compete at AHG every month.

The quick answer to your question is 1 second around the AHG track for a normal lap time of 60 seconds.

So yes it will make a difference, if your looking to be more competative against other skylines.

However if you want to beat the WRX's with 55 second lap times then its not enough.

I have set the rear as hard as possible and on regular roads I dont feel a lot of difference.

On the track its also hard to tell except for the slightly quicker time.

So far it doesnt seem to have increased the tendency to drift either.

A stiffer front sway bar setting seems to have more effect than the rear in terms of giving more instant driver feed back.

The WA suspension car is running the front swaybar at maximum. That is currently the fastest stock GTST with close to WRX/EVO times.

I am going to go harder on the front swaybar as my next move. 2 more setting to go yet.

My suspicion is that a good lap time at AHG is all about tyres and power ...

well the answer to this from suspension specialist is the swaybar has an afect on the opisit end of a car.

if you put a front one in you will increase oversteer

put a rear one in and you will increase understeer.

as a basic rule of thumb.

i got an adjustable whiteline item a while back because it was cheap seccond hand but was strongly advised not to put it in (this was for a drift setup)

i finaly got around to buying a front adjustable one and i could not belive the difference. it helped stop the nose from diving so much and realy helped stabilised the front end which in my case is just lowered springs on shagged standard shocks. i havent had time yet to do any real testing but it is one of my favirate mods sofar and i cant wait to give it a real test with the tail out.

i still have the rear waiting to go in but i think i will wait untill ive had atleast some track time on just the front bar so i notice a bigger difference.

good old sydney kid will help you out if you are in doubt thoe.

    • Since winter isn't that harsh anymore in Poland, i will definetely drive it 365 days a year 😉. But if the snow hits i will try it for sure and let U know. Only swap i am planning to do is of course R34 GTR front 😍.
    • Hey. Very valuable information about pitwork, I will pay attention when buying any consumable parts 🙏 As for the carpets - I got a handful of information from nengun, from which it appears that indeed the carpets for the driver's side are OEM. They are not able to show me any pictures due to the long chain of different sales entities but after I place the order, as soon as the goods arrive at the nengun warehouse from which they will send the shipment to me they can send me photos and if my purchase differs from OEM I can immediately return it / cancel the purchase. I think I will give it a try 😉. Of course i'll let you know what's what as soon as i get them P.s. I know the topic is not relevant to the thread, but both nengun and amayama have these SICK 😍 trunk room lamps available. Do you know anyone who ordered them? I need to have one in my car
