You have completely missed the point. This porsche is modified by a tuner and is far more epxensive to begin with. So to make it even you would have to spend the same money on a GTR. Such a car exists in the R34 GTR Z Tune (created/tuned by NISMO).

These modifications allow the Rinspeed "Le Mans" to be accounted amongst one of the fastest street legal sports cars. The sprint from 0-62 mph is achieved by the super sportsman in just 3.3 seconds, the 124 mph mark is reached in 10.9 seconds and the top speed is clocked at 213 mph.

...................Z-tune is quicker. 0-100km/h in 3.2 seconds and 0-400m in 10.02 seconds and its street legal too. So not exactly killed by that modified Porsche when you make the playing field more comparable.

That thing owns a GT-R its called european!!, rapes Jap Crap. I do own a GT-R and they are great cars, but I have driven a 996 Porsche and they are a lot better car.

your car deserves much more respect than that - sell it and buy a porsche so someone can give your car the appreciation it deserves.

Can the Z-Tune match its top speed? If I remember correctly the speedo only reads up till 320km/h on the Z-Tune.

Like many Nissans it is electronically limited (in this case to 155mph) so I am not sure.

But what I do know is it is fast as f**k around a track and im betting it would show most cars ever built whats what, including that porsche!

my dad drives a camry, damn to him its the best car on the planet. they are good though, opps hang on, we're not talking about camries here. ha ha

I agree. As much as we admire some cars of Porsche or Ferrari, we should still be grateful that we have relatively easy access to one of the greatest sports cars and motorsport icons of our time. I mean the Yanks would kill for a Skyline GTR.

You have completely misunderstood MY point. As said above, I started this thread because I appreciate the beautiful aerodynamic bodywork and the performance engineering of this amazing car, and wanted to share. The title NEW GTR Killer is simply to attract attention. No body said its going to be a money for money comparison with the new GTR! In that sense, it would beat the new GTR both in terms of performance and looks. In my opinion and from many others in this thread. That's of course, until Mines or Nismo get their hands on the new GTR.

And No, the Z-tune is not quicker across the quater mile. The 10.02 seconds claim was misleading, no way it could have achieved that with the factory 500ps, even with supplied RE55s. Do a search on this topic, it has been covered many times before.

Again, I had no intention to inflict debates about "which is better Porsche or GTR?", or "given the same budget which car could be faster?". For all its worth, you could buy a stock standard brand new WRX and spend $150,000 on it so it could smoke the Z-tune all day everyday.

Make no mistake, I do long for a Z-tune I think its the best Skyline ever made and its on the top of my "wish list" along with the 997 GT3.

I would be interested also.

The one in Australia has 330awkW I think? And the owner says it is quicker than his GT2. And it has done a 17 or 18 second 800m run.

quicker than GT2? that depends on the driver.

330awkw would get you low 11s or with luck 10.9~

What that thread doesn't allow for is the fact that the z tune was hand crafted by nismo engineers. The amount of detail and precision that went into that car is insane, i have watched a documentary one it. The a pillar forward is carbon fibre, the brakes as specially built for the car, the suspension is insane. All this and much more means this is not your regular 330awke GTR, its power delivery would be far more reliable and linear. I can't count the amount of places I have read that this car has completed 0-400m in times from 10.02 seconds - 10.2secs... NOT 10.9 +

Comes to average power too. I would suspect a Z tune would make that 330awkw for a large chunk of its rev range.

There is giant's R32 GTR which runs a 10.2 @ 137mph with 380-400awkw... it makes 300awkw at 3500rpm - average power is where it is at for speed.

Maybe the Z Tune that ran a 10.02 is one them what Nismo says has 470kW at 9000rpm (I read that in Unique Cars - dunno how true it all is).

Anyway I am hijacking the thread.

Back on track, tuned Porsches are mental :(

According to experts, the newcomer is currently completing laps of the dem­anding track in only seven minutes, 15 seconds - which means the Nissan is averaging as much as 110mph!

New 911T does a 7.30-7.45 from memory, 7.15 is f**king unbelievable if true. That's significantly quicker than a Zonda, CGT, 911 GT3, SLR, etc. I'd want to see that verified...

It would be remarkeble if it really could lap the ring in 7"15. but i think Nissan would be happy with 7"30. the 997 turbo could only manage 7"45 on street tyres.

      Power steering is probably because someone has nuked the HICAS CU and you no longer have the variable power asist doing what it is supposed to. How much boost are you running? You are aware that any more than 10 psi on the stock ECU is just asking for it to go to full R&R (that's Rich & Retard, which is effectively Retarded and Retarded!) which kills all the power. Depending on the exact conditions, it can just be runnign on the fat and stupid end of the maps, then the conditions change, you make a little more boost and the ECU goes into panic.

I have them too on my RB25DET NEO and as a GTSboy i have fmic but with stock piping route(i have Blitz intercooler) Iam making around 320 BHP and the car pulls "hard" from like 2,5k all the way to 7k. I have it dyno tuned to mimic N/A power curve and making little less max torque due to the smallbox tranny. But driveability is very great. I had 350Nm below 3k so car feels very quick.   EDIT:  Not my channel but i saw this and i know that is what i want (and i have exactly this)

      Looking to sort out a couple of issues on my skyline  It recently was rebuilt, however rebuilder long story short did not give two flying effs about the work he did. So moving forward it's running but I have two persistent issues 1) it has a misfire / lag type of issue (was at higher RPMs but I had a dead piggy back ecu removed which improved it) now it's not as bad but still does it at random, I thought it may have been a boost issue I'm running an older turbosmart dual stage controller, turbosmart told me to try running off gate pressure however it still has a lag at random times. It has New MAF, maf plug, coil packs, sparks, CP harness.. injectors tested and cleaned. Factory ECU. 2) Power steering issue. It is tight as anything. Flushed power steering, rebuilt my pump because the bearing was shot. Flushed again still tight (mainly when parking and going slow into my driveway etc)  No kinks in hard lines, replaced the lines I could see had cracks. Still tough to steer.  I was told to shim a coin and place into the solenoid plug? Is there anything else. My steering angle sensor also has a issue. It's a used one I replaced, does it need to be calibrated? I feel like I've tried everything and this car is my voodoo doll.

      One main filter. Each tank has a prefilter to keep rocks and small children out, then the big main filter that also does water separation. Clogged the first one so bad it was like a rev limiter at 3200rpm. Literally just like dropping the throttle off and maintaining rpm!
