Nah turn 2-4 are the scariest. Thanks to all involved and flaggies out in the wet.

Jarrod... You're a stirrer. You just wanted to see carnage! Best spot on the track for it though.

Shame about your engine Nick. Hope it gets sorted soon and cheap.

cheers to all who helped out... it was a tough day to be a flaggy! it took me a while to work out it was Jarrod at turn 4... kept wondering why this clown was giving me the blue flag when I had half the track to myself! haha

was a new experience going round there in the wet tho and it helped me improve when it dried out, I was a lot smoother...

so yeah I still haven't called my mechanic to find out his diagnosis, I'm too scared... but its probably safe to say I won't be on the track again this year:(

huge thanks to Chris for driving me home so far out of the way, and everyone who helped push the whale out of the pits! hehe

Yeah it was a bit cold ouy there Nick..

It was a sad moment to see your R33 leaving Sandown on the back of a Tow truck.

Hope its not to bad and your back on the road soon.. :)

no drama nick. bad luck mate...u were ripping them up until it died..

Kev, Debra, Phil & Brett,

Nice to see all of your familiar faces again. It was an awesome experience. I think I might have been bitten by the circuit bug thanks to my (I know you like this word Kev) "Virgin" run. :laughing-smiley-014:

A thousand thanks to all the instructors, flag marshalls (Brett and Phil how did you like the massive slide on turn one?), caterer (I really didn't think the food was gonna be so lavish! I was expecting mystery bags and bread!), fellow drivers and the strange and friendly parrot.

See you guys next round.

Track slippery?

Cheers,

Lydz

OH NO Nick, sounds like you followed in my footsteps  What happened?

Hope it's nothing too serious and it doesn't cost you big $$$$'s to get it back on the road.

accelerating out from the 3rd last corner in 3rd gear, heard a clank, clank clank, pulled off into pits, called tow truck...

I reckon its a big end bearing (again aghh) but it could be a valve or something else, its up on the hoist today top see whether the noise is coming from the bottom end or head

I ignored the whole oil surge/bearing issue that plagues the GTR guys... but definately going to get the oil feed restrictors in there this time etc... goes to show you can still have problems running stock turbs and street tires

meh... rebuild thread coming soon;)

Hehe... yeah.. it has been 4 years since i've had my R33 you know!

I'm an old-new member, i'm mostly in Nissan Silvia forum now anyways. Back then I was the rare girl driving an import so it was rather intimidating to socialise with the community.

Thanks, I guess a have an advantage in the wet as i'm not afriad to slide. I always try to be as interesting as possible (show pony!) :)

How close was I to hitting the wall on the last corner coming to the back straight?! I almost sh*t myself... almost. :D

Till next time fellas!

    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
    • Yeah mate, never miss it.
    • Any going to watch World Time Attack at SMSP this year?
    • Appreciate the correction on the "ground", that will make a huge difference to looking at this. That makes complete sense about AF70/AF71 which is what I had come down to being the issue, one of these. I'll have another look in the ignition wiring when I get a chance next week. I'll also make up a jumper wire for running that AF73 test.  ECU is fine, relay itself is fine, pump harness is fine and the pump itself is fine. I am going to upgrade the Walbro 255 anyway with a DW300 I have since I need to replace the fuel sender and I'm going to upgrade the FPR with my chasebays kit ready for new plenum/injectors/dbw, but I'll get this working first. That's why this is so frustrating.
