^^^looks good

the only reason the trust front bar looks good is coz it makes the headlights look very evil, it exposes the whole front mount core(giving u that hardcore look and ppl think ur packin shit loads of boost) and is lower than most other after market front bars

Definately get new indicators. Trailer lights do not belong on a Skyline :P

I would also go for the black inserted headlights.

I would hate to think how little reo you now have and how unsafe your car would be in a front on accident :/

sorry, just my opinion...........

And who charges $1600 for a fmic now-a-days? Unless of course it is a full custom job.

Hi Al,

wow..thanx for your comments!!..,really appreciate them.

There is still a fair bit of Reo in the front,....but who would it be more unsafe for?, the driver or the thing that gets hit?? :woot:

I actually really like my chrome headlights, they're different to the norm, and when polished come up a treat!!!

The black ones are cool though.

Yeah, I am tending to sway towards you on the indicators. I suspect that finding nice ones is going to be a little difficult?

I do like their 'raw' look though, just got no class at all.

FMIC??...what is the 'going rate' nowadays on install and parts,..I was quoted the above figure a while ago, admittedly.

Spit.

looks good.

doesn't look like it's colour matched properly to the rest of the body though - looks too white while the guards and bonnet look to have more ivory.

Hi R09,

mmmm...interesting comment...I must say the guys at my work, those who spray paint for a living, seem to be actually impressed by the matching.

I guess digital photography can make things appear that way,(ivory/mismatch/shade) though i can't see it in reality.

Admittedly, my car does need a good polish!!...maybe that's what you can pick up on???

I value your input Ronin, and i thankyou.

Regards,

Spit.

Just found these if you are interested in changing your lights

Indicator link

I would choose "M3 Series Truck Clearance Marker Lights" and mount them in the lower ducts using some cheap L-shape brackets from Bunnings.

Hey mate I put a couple of pics up in the members gallery under Front bar. I don't know how to transfer them to this thread. They were taken on my phone quite late in the day so they are not that great but you can get the idea. You can see the orange globe where the park lights are. If you want to ge indicators I was told to look for actual trailer ones as they are small and clear. Tell me what you think anyway.

Hey buddy

just an idea for ur indicators, this is what i did on my front bar.

i dint want them sticking out anywhere cos the bar looked hawt without indicators.

ps, dnt laugh at the paint on the front bar, lol, its gettin sprayed again :D

Hey outie,

Mine is 135mm, just towards the rear of the front bar....(you know where they angle down a touch?)

Thanx for ideas/pics mate!...I like!.....

    • Have a vb in honour of the car comming back
    • It was a great, but typical track day, and some VB was ingested at the night time debrief 🤪
    • And so, to round this out, I couldn't be happier to confirm @MBS206 has decided to buy the car. He drove down from sunny QLD with a trailer last week and it is off to its new home today. I'll let Matt confirm on next steps but I understand broadly that the plan is to leave it pretty much as is, and just get some quality wheel time with a nicely balanced car that is pretty much track ready. There are a few a jobs still to be done first but nothing too major and I think its a very smart buy Dinner last night at the Paragon with a round of VBs (mostly) for Neil
    • Well, 50 pages and the end of a chapter for this car. We took it out for a shakedown at Wakie yesterday, and everything went well. There were a couple of niggles: - Oil cooler fitting leak - tightened, cleaned, stopped leaking - Radiator cap overflow fitting was leaking....Mark called it, the overflow fitting was threaded in and not tight....tightened, tested and held pressure - Small oil leak at the rear of the block, probably the turbo oil feed - too hot to get at it comfortably but probably just needs to be nipped up - leak at the driver's side rear brake line where it meets the hardline. Fitting wasn't loose, so Matt backed it off and back on, no further leaks - there's also a leak somewhere on the top of the fuel tank, maybe that cross over fuel line - that was has been left to fix when its on a hoist Otherwise than those niggles the car went great, turned great and stopped great so it was a very successful day out. I'm always really nervous when a car first hits the track after a long break, especially with a brand new engine as well but it was great. VID-20251011-WA0007.mp4  Big thanks to @The Bogan who dropped by and helped out, @MBS206 and my nephew Lachlan the apprentice.  Neil's wife Mel also surprised the hell out of all of us by dropping by; she's up in Tamworth these days but was travelling to Melbourne so had plausible deniability for turning up at the garage, it was great to see her but also obviously a bit sad all round.
