Hey all, just bought a genuine nissan RB25 water pump off Kudos (Andrew - top bloke) and it has the elongated top bolt hole?

I'm not fitting it myself but I was just wondering what this should be filled with (I hear that you then just drill the proper hole after filling)?

Reason being, I just want to be able to tell the mechanic doing my 100k service what he should do to avoid him either not filling it at all, claiming it is no good and charging me for another pump or claiming he had to go through some massive (expensive) process to fill it.

shouldnt need to fill it if its the 10mm bolt left of centre on top row ..

similar to the N1 pump so its a multifit ... as long as the rest is sealed well, just putting the bolt in should not cause any leaking

The engine blocks have the hole in one of 2 positions. It's just a way of cutting down on the number of pumps required to cover all engines. I have one of those pumps in my RB25, and it hasn't caused any problems.
