hi, guys iv got a r33 (rb25t) with 221kw at wheels... sounds good but thats MAX! on 10PSI its only got like 97kw at wheels. iv got FMIC, bigger turbo, 550cc injectors, walbro fuel pump, dump pipe into 3inch stainless, HKS pod, microtech LT-8 ecu...

was thinkin of getting splitfire coil packs but told there a waste??? dunno about that

what mods can i do to make more grunt... budget minded at the mo hehe

thanks guys

lol im amusing you ment on 10psi its making 197kw at the wheels. Next mod on your list id be looking at a bigger turbo again. You have all the supporting modifications to support a safe 250rkw. So if your maxing the set up at 221kw im assuming the turbo is the restriction?.

No point in getting splitfires unless your packs are breaking down.

mate youve done all the mods you can do before you change the internals. Im thinking if you want more grunt, considering you have a bigger turbo, crank up the boost. What turbo do you have, so that someone can tell you what level of boost is efficient. Say, if youve got a big turbo such as a gt 3040, you would need to run higher than 10 psi to get good power. but then to get even more power, youd need to change internals to support the stress on your motor

gee's.....

I agree with 700hp GTR33......

and just to confirm...it is an Rb25 R33 ?

what turbo again?

and those "bolt on" mods?

you get those twopower levels...

97 and 221

Your Turbo and tune seem to me as being at fault

Who tuned it...and what Turbo is it?

i havent dynoed it myself the previous owner dynoed it at JEM, dunno what turbo it is... i had someone who knows there turbos and couldnt tell me... it aint stamped on turbo... its not much bigger than stock

yes, Nice avatar

mate, something is wrong with your car or someone is telling you fibs - take it somewhere else and get a dyno run....

Sure, dyno's are used as a tuning tool, but your two power levels and boost - its just not making any sence.

Even RB30 non turbos make that power - 97rwkw !!!!! (Well, I know of one that made 101rwkw)

yes, Nice avatar :O

that sounds like what i will have to do... i feel like iv been shafted now...

if it is bigger, how come it only seems to flow 97kw of air at 10 psi, whereas a stock one can give 180+ quite easily. either your turbo is not suited to the low boost, or you need to get the microtech tuned properly. sounds like you would be better off with a stock ecu atm if the turbo IS bigger

If you want more grunt as in the sound - then get a proper CAI with a bigger POD - pipe it straight to the front bumber and you will get better sound.

Regards,

its a HKS 3 inch neck (luv the mad induction noise  ) with custom heat sheild... but getting straight to bumper will be good... will it make alot of difference in power?... any gain is good for me.

dunno... could it be the turbo is shot or something??? maybe i need a full retune or something...

you most likely dont need a rebuild. get your car on a dyno at a dyno day or something for $50 instead of guessing from what previous owners have told you, and get a print out of the air/fuel ratios and power curve obviously. compare your curves with some from the rb25 dyno thread and go from there. you may find there isnt much wrong after all, or you may find that the turbo or management is totally wrong and u really are low on power. a retune will sort u out, the microtech is a good thing. changing turbos is a bit harder/

i dont think you have any damage, just a system mismatch

no worries i will definatly have to get it on the dyno by the sounds of things, will an air/fuel ratio gauge help me...

    • I have more than enough digging, laying blocks, moving gravel, airrating, feeding and top soiling the grass, and setting up the veggie gardens growing some seedlings,  and then removing all the unused rock to keep me busy for the next few months at least,  hopefully the rain stops soon so I can get a few hours in this arvo, but, before that Sunday is washing day, is every body happy, you bet your life we are Nice country road day drives are a day off whenever I'm muscle sore from all the landscaping at the moment, but, more epic multiple day drives will start once the majority of the big jobs outside are completed
    • I hear that would involve some nice country road drives into the hills for Mark...
    • I thought I'd come back and add something I JUST learned. A Toyota LandCruiser with a 1HZ, mates perfectly with a bottle of Nulon brake fluid. As in, it perfectly screws in. Great make shift funnel when you cut the bottom of it off. This may work for your Corolla.   Unfortunately, tipping a 10L drum is much harder than a 4 to 6L bottle, and they no longer include the easy pour tap which was just perfection to use previously.
    • Guys since i bought r33 gts25t coupe 1994 automatic a/t(manual swap 350z gearbox)  all i got is problems, always problems. Lets start with that when i turn key into ignition(ON) fuel pump doesnt always works. Sometimes i have to turn key twice Off/on/off/on until it primes. Its new, dw300 - 340lph. My gearbox broke so i did gearbox swap, install different intake manifold, injectors and i take pipes. Car was sitting in garage for more than half a year. I did assembly all not that long ago and when i turn ignition cant hear prime. All of sudden it stopped working. Theres many videos on YouTube how to make relay mod on r33 straight from battery so i did and it doesnt work! 😰 30 - battery positive  87 - positive from fuel pump to relay 85, 86 - one of two wires from original fuel pump wires(light blue, grey) and it didn’t work. so I check on ignition and took original BLUE relays wires from trunk, next to fuses. (I believe it’s IGN+ and ECU pin 18. it didn’t work…  tried connecting (IGN+ from og relay) and (ECU 104 from 1of4 FPCM wires) to my new relay 85/86 and it didn’t work.  I unplug FPCM. Didn’t work. im thinking what’s wrong   fuel pump is working, if I leave IGN+ on 85 and 86 straight to ground it works but it’s just nonstop. Since it getting constant 12v after key in ON. light blue wire gives me 6-8v.  so how this should be connected? What causing ECU not giving — on pin? Or I did sth wrong and that’s why it doesn’t work? I need negative signal on ECU that control fuel pump. What this should be?
