Hey! You better be quiet or i'll tell everyone about your Monaesque moment at the Caltex

oops!!! *shuts up*

*giggles quietly on the side*

*cough*

f*kN LIES! i was chattin away to ya  or trying to at least...

Yeah i knew you were turning, but i couldn't legally turn left from the right lane...

Its no big deal, i was only going to the meet to see how many people there were, if there was a lot, i was going to come... Instead, I went back to sleep...

lol!!! so you'd only come if it was a big cruise? pft! wheres the dedication! either way you missed out! :D

Sorry I missed it guys.

I actually did Nasho / Macquarie Pass last night, and just as I got to Waterfall it started to rain. It was quite interesting to drive the rest of the route in the rain and fog, especially on R-Comp semi slicks...

Anyway, didn't get home until 6AM and then slept through my alarm.

Best. road. ever.

^^same. except replace mac pass line with 'got really drunk' and replace 'through my alarm' with nothing.

Best. road. ever.

lol

It is fun, but NUP.

Best road ever IMO is the Alpine Way in Thredbo. Went to the snow about a month ago and decided to take the long way back. Never been there before and it was a fluke that we hit that road. It's like 74km of REALLY REALLY twisty windy roads. No turnoffs, no line markings, no barriers, no deer, no cops, well paved, no potholes or cracking. You can take the corners wide as you want, as quick as you are comfortable with, but your reflexes must be spot on as you get the occassional car coming the other way. The speed limit is 80km, but in honesty, it's very hard to hit that much because its so very dangerous(massive cliff drops everywhere) and I was caning it in the Ford we hired, ice and all. Took about 1.5hrs all up.

Beautiful scenery, it takes you through the Snowy Mountains Hydro System.

I had a massive smile all the way it was so much fun!!! It's like one of those roads you see the guys testing on Top Gear!

Oh to take the Skyline there :D

Someone organise a cruise to that road!!! It'll be like a 10hour drive all up, but I guarantee it will be one of the best driving experiences you will ever have.

My favourite road in Australia at the moment still has to be the Black Spur in Victoria.

I used to love the Great Ocean Road but the surface isn't quite as good as Black Spur and there's also a lot more traffic (including a lot of arseholes that call the cops on you because you want to drive at your pace and they can't be f**ked using the thoughtfully-placed turn-out bays).

I haven't done the Alpine roads in NSW yet, but by all accounts they're an awesome drive. The NSCC used to do annual multi-day cruises through there before the snow season, and they adore the roads.

Was great to catch up with you skyline buddies again after nearly 2 years..I am a Nissan boy again. I was in 350z..Missed my R34 :-(..BTW i was going for a drive to Wollongong without knowing about this cruise when i noticed skylines at Heathcote Caltex so i turned around flashed at you guys when you were leaving.

Glad to hear everyone had fun though :( I will attend a cruise one day!!

yea i knew we were going the wrong way.. then thought, ahh someone probably knows a shortcut.

We got there 20kms later..

According to whereis, it should only take 59kms from my house.. it took us 79kms.. hahah

    • I know people cry at the price of the Getrag 12-14k for a conversion now, but it really is a nice mid point. Not going to get change from 10k on a gearset installed.  $30k++ for sequential.   I know you run the risk of a damaged used one and parts are hard to get but as a street car gearbox its really hard to beat. If you enjoy a more traditional manual, its the choice no question.
