Just got clarification on the name issue... As long as there is no link to the club (ie. the Club is not selling them) then you don't need get Nissans approval. As SAU-VIC doesn't exsist then I don't see it being a problem.

If however you would like me to clear it past them I'm sure that that can be arranged once you have a final design made up.

OH and don't forget that I would like some of these when they are made!

Cheers,

Dan.

does that mean when we actually ARE a club we wont be able to have these (without selling more) as our club stuff? ie. we already have them.... but cant wear em on club days or on club promotional events?

Doubt it. they can't say anything about merchandise that club members already have when joining the club.

Anyways, good news from the manufacturer, after a good long fone call (tryin to figger how da fvk to get the design to them) I managed to get em to agree to makin caps and beenies in coulours OF YOUR LIKING!!! ie ANY colour cap and beenie with the logo will be made up.

TWO different designs will be used, one for the cap one for the beenie.

The cap is like this:

cap01.jpg

It is flexfit, which means one size fits all, its made from a cotton + lycra elastic material.

The beenie looks like this:

beenie01.jpg

The printing is done in gel printing, the material is half cotton half acrylic. An example of a beenie that this manufacturer makes is on the recent Craig David music video with Sting. The company mas-if which manufactured that beenie gets their products ordered thru the same manufacturer. When I suggested that the peeps wanted skull caps not folding beenies the lady said "oh you mean craig david style?".

Ignore the designs in the pics guys, just the genral shape and material will be the same.

Dan can you get their approval anyways, just in case, if they condone our running off a limited set for our member base only and not for commercial sale, then I'd welcome it.

But if they wanna introduce catches and clauses and conditions which in any way affect the time, cost or effort of us obtaining these things then stuff em.

As for SAU-NSW sellin the beenies, I'll leave that up to you guysin the committee to decide how to and if you wanna, or if you want me to just mail them out of VIC. Either way the extra money will come back to the running of the forum and/or organising events in your local state, depending on how much the end cost will be.

here are some logos I made up for the front of the cap... lemme know what you think

I'd prefer a simple...

logo4.jpg

and at the back we could have sumfin like this in a small line...

logo5.jpg

Short simple, not gaudy and not overbearing, and quite destinctive.

good work on the organising..

sorry munky.. but i like my one better :P those circles look to 70's or something.

Now we've got the interest there we take a vote on the design chosen as well (say from 3 possibles) ??

Yeah, settle on a design and let me know funky, I will get it run past them... from what I have been told it shouldn't be a problem as long as you don't use the GTR badge or name. (Which so far you arn't thinking of)

As for the logo I like the one for the back... but change SKYLINESAUSTRALIA to SAU and stick it on the front! as for the back well I'm not really sure... I had thought the URL for advertising but some feel that this is geeky.

my $0.02.

the more I look at the GTR style badge the more I like it... I'll come up with about 4 concepts and then put up a poll, abnd you guys can vote on em.

yeah, i'll post a different poll for the beenies.

Altho beenies should be easy, most ppl want plain beenies with not much clutter.

I'm looking at the Jap merchandise available, I might try to do some jap style designs.

its up to you guys, the manufacturer is ready to take orders, I'm ready to pay for em, basically all that is left is for you guys to decide quickly which design you like, and in what colour.

    • You just need to remove the compressor housing, not the entire turbo. I would not be drilling and tapping anything with the housing still on anyways.
    • So, I put my boat on a boat. First of all, I'm going to come out and say it. Why is Tasmania not considered a holy goal, an apex that all road-legal modified cars go to, to experience? This place is an absolute wonderland of titanic proportions. If people are already getting club runs for once in a lifetime 30 person cruises to Tassy then I've never seemed to see it. It is like someone replaced the entire place with an idyllic wonderland for cars, and all of the people living there with paid actors who are kind, humble, and friendly. Dear god. After doing a lap of almost all of the place I've found that it's a great way to find out all of the little things that the car isn't doing quite right and a great way to figure it all out. All in all, I drove for 4 hours a day for a week and nothing broke. I didn't even need to open the engine bay. This is by all means a great success, but it has left me with a list of things to potentially address. I also now have a 3D printed wheel fitment tool which annoyingly hasn't got any threads in it to actually assemble it. I might be able to tape it together to check the sizing I actually want to use, but it'll likely involving pulling the shocks out to properly measure travel at least at the front, and probably raise the car while I'm at it, at least in the rear. I scraped on quite a few things and I'm not sure how else to go about it. I was taking anything with a bump at what felt like 89 degree angles. And address those 10 other tasks. And wash the car. God damn it is dirty. And somehow, the weather was perfect the entire time - And because I was on the top of Mt Wellington it turns out it was very much about to freeze up there. I did something I typically never do and took some photos up there in what must have been -10 and the foggy felt like suspended ice, rather than mere fog. If you own a car in Australia, you owe it to yourself to do it.
    • Damn that was hilarious, and a bit embarrassing for skylines in general 😂 vintage car life ey. That R33 really stomped. Pretty entertaining stuff
    • Hi, I have a r32 gtr transmission. Does any of you guys have an idea how much power it will hold with the billet center plate and stock gearset? At what power level and use did yours brake with or without billet plate? Thanks, Oystein Lovik
    • Saw this replica police car based on a Mitsubishi Starion XX parked next to a 'police box' (it's literally a box) in Hirohata, Himeji City in Hyogo prefecture the other day. It's owned by Morii-san who is a local Mitsubishi Starion enthusiast. According to a local radio station blog post, he always wanted to make a police car himself based on ones he saw in his favourite Manga comics.  As it's illegal to modify a car to look like a police car and drive on the road, Morii-san tried many times to get permission from Aboshi police station headquarters nearby. They refused initially by after they got tired of that they granted him permission. However, the car can only be displayed on private property and obviously can't be registered as long as the police livery is present. The car was completed at a cost of 1.5 million yen (US$ 10,000) in addition to the car cost. A location was chosen outside Hirohata Police box where the car can easily been seen from the street. Morii-san has two other Starion road cars, both widebody GSR-VRs.
