My question is more on the way its fitted.. If it needs a pin throgh it, to be sure it wont spin on the crank.

Now its mounted this way: crank was cold shrunk, collar heated to 100 degress, both parts degreesed, special glue, VERY strong and will hold up to 150 degrees, still needed 2 tons to be pressed on. (No I did not press 2 tons down on entire crank, a metal bar was fitted just down under the first counter weight.)

Question is, do you think it will stay on and not spin round the crank. I dont know how much force there is trying to twist it around the crank.... How hard the oil pump is to drive..?

Rule of thumb from an old engineer when they used to press on drive sprockets. A 2 thou tolerence fit on a 1 inch pipe 1 inch wide will drive 40hp.

Thats an interesting rule of thumb when you think about it, as HP doesnt have anything to do with it does it!

It's to do with torque and how much pressure is being created outwards on the outer surface with the interference fit.

    • Heater wasn’t working in my 32  so I decided to pull my dash out ( sounded like a great idea at the time) so initially I was sure the heater core was blocked. When I pulled it out turns out that the heater blower actuator was cable tied so it stayed shut and this prevented the heater core from doing its job as well as flowing. so currently the dash is out the heater core is out and seems to be fine but I think I’m in over my head  and need someone that knows what they are doing to take over and get it finished. I’m located in mt Annan, nsw 2567 if anyone has any ideas or suggestions please let me know
