Jax
You don't drive an auto. It drives you. You're just a different class of passenger. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/178803-auto-or-manual/page/2/#findComment-3271730 Share on other sites

dmr
autos are for motoristsmanuals are for drivers the only 2 occasions where i wish i drove an auto would be 1. driving long distances 2. when i'm stuck in bad traffic facing up a hill +1 Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/178803-auto-or-manual/page/2/#findComment-3271822 Share on other sites
Pal
i had the auto in mine for about a year, then done a conversion and have had that for a couple of years. sometimes i miss the auto , nice and smooth for cruising, but then slam a few gears and it all goes away. Cold_Fusion
Must be using that brake pedal a lot huh XD But seriously, I don't have a choice anymore. Gotta drive Auto coz of leg injuries and I miss manual big time although the best of both worlds would be a proper sequential box...never tried one but definitely contemplating it in the near future. You gotta account for the simplicity of manual car upgrades too and it really is much much more fun than an auto any day. Even in heavy traffic, when you get bored u can just depress the clutch and get rid of some frustration by letting out a healthy amount of exhaust noise ^^ Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/178803-auto-or-manual/page/2/#findComment-3323202 Share on other sites
M34N
Mine's auto. I first bought the car over 2 years ago and planned to have it as a daily driver but then the modification bug bit me and so it became a weekend-only car. I wish it was manual now and my next car will be, without a doubt. I've found myself driving it a lot in tiptronic mode and its only on long, boring straights I leave it in auto mode. Sometimes it can be funny when you forget you've got it in manual mode and forget to gear up and rev the hell out of it Besides, modding a manual is MUCH less painful than an auto... Victory
I have 5 cars in my driveway - 4 manuals and 1 auto. My wife and daughter drive the auto and my son and I drive the manuals. I do at least 200 km per day commuting to work and I love my manual R33 GTS-T as a daily driver. Give me a manual any day. bubba
Manual FTW, only time is shits me is picking up my coffee in the morning then trying to pull out onto a busy main road I guess the new button clutch doesn't help that either Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/178803-auto-or-manual/page/2/#findComment-3324193 Share on other sites
FATAZZ
I've never driven a manual with power only excel and hilux ute. The ute feels like driving a truck)blardy workout just driving) Excel ya have to change gears every 5m i guess a manual skyline would be nice to drive. my auto box is built and is awesome(shifts so quick, sounds like a formula 1 car) bigger stall converter works kinda like a clutch anyway Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/178803-auto-or-manual/page/2/#findComment-3326560 Share on other sites
