Hey guys, I've bought a manual VN 6 wagon which will be my daily driver/winton drift hack

Ive already got custom springs on there way, front strut brace is done & rear 22mm sway bar also.... :)

Im going to leave the 15inch steelies on the rear but want either 16 or 17s for the front which need to be

8inch wide atleast i guess...

I've noticed people with Toyota sprinters often fit some 4wd looking wheels which are often dished and 15x8 or

16x8 kinda size.. which i must say look DAMN awsome!!

Is there any way of obtaining something similar for a VN? lol

The below wheels are very similar to a set i saw on a guys red AE86 which told me were off a 4 wheel drive!!

Please help out guys cos ive gone to 2-3 different wheel places that sell the typical holden stud pattern wheels

and all the want to offer me is Habib 20x6 chromies!!!

if you are going to actually have a decent crack at drifting you will want atleast 16's on the rear. high profile tyres aren't that good for sliding. there is too much flex in the sidewall. just get a set of 16's or 17's to run all round. tyres for them are getting pretty cheap now.

yeah thats a true point mate.. thats the main reason y i wanted 16s or 17s for the front but i guess it would be

important for the rear too...

id love wheels that sit really wide, this VN is not going to look like an ausie car. thats for sure.

just so we're clear on something those rims are longchamp xr-4 wheels, they are cool...

as far as putting them onto a commodore i dunno how'd go about it perhaps you could get the holes redrilled? but more often than not those style wheels are for the older style of cars meaning they are often 4 stud...

..good luck!

I guess the best way of figuring it out is just to find out what stud pattern holden use (5x???) and then finding what other models use the same stud pattern, and have nice low offset wheels.

You could also probably get some bolt on spacers made up?

Hope that helps :(

looks at OZ racing rims, light weight race style for holdens. pretty sure its them that were used on the concept from holden, the 7 litre monaro. but yeh dunno how much they will cost though, being light weight racing style rims. there are heaps of different race series' around with holdens, sports saloons (VN's) and HQ race cars might have something your after?

    • Ok thanks..that was my second question if i can somehow bypass this even with Nistune(that is all i have right now...aparat from stock ECU. So with some aftemarket it can by "bypassed" or make it work?  I know there is Link or Haltech (mainly used). We have ECUmaster here so i will gather some info about it.
    • Yes. You will need to get the original boost sensor and wire it in. That is.... if you plan to use a stock ECU - even a Nistuned ECU. The Nissan ECU will not operate correctly without it connected. And yes, it will do annoying stuff like you are experiencing. You will almost certainly be better off with some aftermarket ECU, than trying to hunt down rare sensors.
    • Ok so ABS/TCS is "not" the problem. Yeah i know now about the ABS with Nistune(i told that to the Nistune guy) but iam not 100% why or why i dont have ABS. ABS cube is in the engine (always has been) but i had braked couple of times rly hard and brakes just locked and scream. Does all Skylines have ABS cube? That boost sensor https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/367633-wtb-r34-gtt-turbo-pressure-sensor-pics-inside/ Is this it? I need to ask but i have a picture of engine bay and i do not see that (100% is not in that place) If i do not have this the car can do what mine is?(cutting around 4000 rpm) Here is the pic of my engine bay(only one i have) BUT i think i dont have that cuz loom was used from my RB20DE NEO and i know (obviously) that it does not have boost control or any wire to that...) so maybe that is the problem? (i dont know for 100% if that car where the engine is from had that)...but i dont have the loom from that
    • I'm with you here. It's either loom has an issue, OR, injectors are not functioning properly. It could even be they're just constantly dribbling, hence the wet, but not firing.
    • Depending on how long the car sat it is very possible for injectors to be stuck open or closed, I'd get them cleaned and flow tested. Other than that, obviously when the loom changes and the car doesn't start any more....the loom is suspect so some tracing / comparing may be required
