Hey guyz....i'm new here and i got some questions~~

I'll b study in sydney coming september n decided to get a car there...

but i heard that there's a new law for P2 license holder

-canot drive vehicle wif high performance 6/8 cylinder engine

-turbocharged/supercharged

-engine performance modification

Is tis a new law for P2? i'm 19 so if i convert my license to NSW, it will b P2 as the minimum require for full license is 20 years old...or foreign can get full license directly? Hahaz...

so how do they rate a high performance 6 cylinder engine? a RB20DET ? RB25DET? SR20DET ?

The vehicle came wif stock turbocharged engine are counted in ?

Engine performance modification included 4 throttle/ ECU/ or something else ?

I had used to drive turbo car in my country...hehe :nyaanyaa: and i was shocked by the new law....as my plan is jus to get myself a S13 SR20DET...but wat's goin on?? no turbocharged vehicle is allowed ?

can some1 lead me ? thx alot ;)

i dont think the new laws apply to people overseas, if you have a full license from where you live then i think it will convert to a full license over here.

you might want to call the NSW RTA first.

A corolla ? erm....think of sprinter b4 that...Hehe...

Oh yea, thx for help..i'll pay a visit at RTA once i reach there....^^

Any auto salon or events coming up around october ? :nyaanyaa:

Well...any1 hav some detail for circuit in syd/nsw? I remember there is one but i cant recall the name.. ;)

Not sure what basket you would go in. Those who got their Ps before the rule was introduced can get away with it (I'm no lawyer, but thats how I take the rules  ) I'm not sure about people transfering licences from different states or people from different countries applying for a licence. My guess is that you should get the licence and if it says anything about performance vehicles, thats what you will have to go with.

After searching the RTA website for about 45 mins (which I must say is absolutly shit for finding the info you want) I found the list of high performance,

naturally aspirated cars that provisional drivers can't drive http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/licensing/downlo...ered_6_list.pdf

The only Nissans that fall under that category are 350Zs, apparently the good old RB25DE isn't good enough... The person that came up with these rules thought long and hard about it... no V35s and no RX-8s.

Well...any1 hav some detail for circuit in syd/nsw? I remember there is one but i cant recall the name..

Wakefield Park - 2 hours from sydney, nice safe circuit

Eastern Creek - maybe 30-45mins from the CBD, more interesting than wakie, but more chance of hitting something if you have an off

Hey guyz..look at this

http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/publicationsstat...ds/45071143.pdf

THats wat i found from the RTA jus now !!

Quote from the application form:

"person who can prove they owned the prohibited vehicle prior to 11 July 2005 or before an interstate/overseas licence transfer (attach proof of acquisition). Note, only a provisional who has never held a NSW licence before his/her licencetransfer can apply for this exemption"

so is it I came from overseas and i still have my oversea licence, i can buy a prohibited vehicle and then change my licence over and then get a exeption application form.

Is that works ? :)

ring up the NSW RTA and ask as i know of a few people who have gone straight onto their full license from a corresponding international license.

otherwise you'll get 10 people and 15 different opinions.

    • Haha, i kow right? Could have bought so many cars for the same amount of money (or less) but driving Unicorn gives you at least +1mln to style 😅. Like wise man said "life's to short to drink cheap wine and drive boring cars" 😉
    • Newbie here, proud owner of an Autech 260RS. I'm on the hunt for wiring diagrams specific to the 260RS, particularly S1. I've ran my eyes through R33, R34 Diagrams, there are some similarities, however continue to find incorrect wire colours and pins on connectors in the 33,34 diagrams.   I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction? I'd be happy to pay for the originals in Japanese. I can translate them, at least they would be accurate.   Any help please would be greatly appreciated, never heard an RB26DETT before let alone driven one, and I've got a spaghetti monster of goodness to sort out.   Cheers Benny
    • Hey all  im wondering if you can help me please I have put a rb20 box in my r34 gtt as my auto packed up and a friend had a spare box I know it’s not ideal but it will get me up and running for now. we have done the conversation and everything is working great but my Speedo we got a s13 speed sensor but my Speedo reads double now and I bought a speed converter but still not having any luck.  so I thought I’ll reach out and pick your brains  any help would be appreciated please as I wanna drive my car again
    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
