Anyone know what the largest/widest I can go for rims on a GTST 32 is, without having to roll guards, or lose any driveability. Looked at the guide above but only had for gtr not gtst.

- and please guys, don't say anything if it isn't directly related! The last time I made a similar post to this, I gained no useful information from it. People just talked up their cars and their rims. No thanks!

I have 17 x 8.5 on my front and 17 x 9.5 on the rears. Car is lowered, and the inner arch lips are rolled slightly. Not sure what offsets are but there's no rubbing.

Fark all idea on the offset of my rims...

19 x 8

19 x 9.5

265/30/19s on the rear.

They do scrub here and there but only because my fronts arent rolled (only figured this out the other day haha)

Massive bumps the rear will scrub but apart from that there's no real drama :/

Saying that its not exactly low!

I have 8" wide I think, maybe 8.5" front and back and my car is heaps low, rubber in the arch front and back!

17".. I havent had any issues with them rubbing in the guards, and mine are not rolled.

If you want to have a look at how low it is, do a search on my usename, there is heaps of pictures in one of my threads.

I have the damper set to pretty firm, and the front damper is set to the hardest it would go, so it doesnt hit ont he inner plastic guard lining.

Thanks,

Abu

Here is a picture.

I have had 3 people in it and its been fine. Although if you full lock it coming off a steep incline, there might be a chance the front tires might touch in the guard.

Running TEIN coilover's.

Thanks,

Abu

    • Possibly avoid using a Cometic one unless the deck/head surface are perfectly flat. I did have a look just then and forgiving gaskets such as Tomei or Nitto don't exist for the FJ20, however the Bar-Tek or Kameari ones look good and might do the trick.
    • Because pipe threads for pipe things. M threads for bolt things. Throw some teflon sealant onto it and dust your hands off knowing you did the right thing, instead of going twice around the block to achieve a result using the wrong things. Of course, all of these solutions are ignoring the fact that the minimum thread pitch we're talking about here is 1.25mm, with the 1/4" in NPT or BPS being out around 1.4mm. You will need to know that the boss you're tapping has enough thickness for at least a few threads. That's one of the reasons that 1/8" is commonly used - because the pitch is <1mm. And why would you look to use 1/4" NPT in a BSP country anyway? Ugh.
    • Just throwing around ideas, does it need to be in the compressor cover? Why not the hot side piping?
    • 1/8NPT drill size = 8.7mm. Since the hole got messed up by me, it’s probably around 9mm.    So 1/4” NPT would be next step. A drill size of around 11mm would be preferred there which is not way of my M12 (drill 10.5mm and tap M12 threads)
