hey all, i done a quick search and couldnt get much out of it, im a basic person when it comes to cars.

my r33 was running on 12psi fine when i got it, i crashed it got it back, boost control is still the same as what i no unless the repairers played with it so i turned the boost up and it dont matter how high i turn it up the boost wont go pass 7psi!

i smashed the front end into a fence and had to get a new intercooler. i think maybe a boost leak? anyone got ideas on what i can do at home to fix it, i live in orange so no one round here can play with it. do u think its best to take it to sydney?

i never played with the boost before i crashed it, i think the standard dual stage boost is working, 5psi - 7psi, im not to sure as im goin off the standard gauge in the dash, it sits on the half way line between 0.7bar and 0 so thats 0.35bar which i think is bout 7psi it does move a little bit sumtimes so i guess thats the standard boost settings working, it used to get right to the 0.7bar mark, thanks for all ur help.

here are sum pics

if the solenoid is the silver thing with 2 tubes goin to it and one free, then there is one on the top and one on the bottom, leaving the middle one free, my cousin has a r33 and on his the top one is empty and the middle one has sumthing on it and his is goin well, maybe thats it, ill try it tomora, ill swap them and see how it goes, thanks for noticing that, hope it works

if i turn the boost as far as it goes on high and low as it goes on low and use the switch to switch between its makes a difference in power and how quick boost is gained but it wont pull pass 7psi still, i put my cousins boost controller on which is working fine and is set on 13psi in his car and when it was in mine it was still only pullin 7psi! got no idea, wanna fix it bad

So what actually happens when you hit 6PSi?

And is this just off of the stock guage it's hitting "7"?

Put an aftermarket boost guage on.

You could be maxing the stock boost guage out (The sender unit)

NEVER trust the stock gauge, never ever. They are slow to react, and not accurate at all. Go get a boost gauge, even if you borrow one and just run a vacuum line from under the bonnet to the inside of the car with some one keeping a careful eye on it.

Does the car feel slower? If you were running 12psi before and it is actually only running 7psi now, you will notice a big difference.

Dont start adjust the boost controller with out a gauge to keep track, you could be running 20psi for all you know, especially if you dont have boost cut.

Everything is connected as it should be according to the photos, as long as the wires are connected properly to the switch inside your car it should be all good.

Even if the wires werent connected properly, you would still have a low boost adjustment since this is a dualstage.

    • It is a kunfine Android screen . Does anyone know the wirering diagram of the fuga ??
    • just an update to this, poor man pays twice  Tried sanding down the pulleys but it didnt do the trick. Chucked another second hand alternator in the na car which I got for free off my mate and its fixed the squelling. Must have been unlucky with the bearings.    As for my turbo car, I managed to pick up a cwc rb alternator conversion bracket + LS alternator for 250 off marketplace, looked to be in really good nick. Installed it , started the car and its not charging the battery.... ( Im not good with auto elec stuff so im not sure if this was all I needed to do but I verified such by using a multimeter on the battery when the engine was running and I was only getting 12.2v )   I had to modify the earth strap for the new LS alternator , factory earth strap was a 10mm bolt which did not fit the bolt on the LS alternator which was double the size so I cut it off , went to repco bought some ring terminals that fit, crimped it onto the old earth strap and bolted it up to the alternator , started the car and same issue. Ran like shit and was reading 12.2 at the battery.  For a "plug and play" advertised kit thats not very plug and play but alas.  My question is , am I missing something ? Ive been reading that some people recommend upgrading the stock 80 amp alternator fuse to a 140 amp but I dont see how that would stop the alternator charging especially at idle not under load.  Regardless ive pulled it out and am going to get it bench tested by an auto elec tomorrow but it would be handy to know if ive missed something silly or have done something wrong.
    • My wild guess is that you have popped off an intake pipe....check all of the hoses between the turbo and the throttle for splits or loose clamps.
    • Awesome, thanks for sharing!
    • To provide more specific help, more information is needed. What Android screen? What is its wiring diagram? Does the car's wiring have power at any required BAT and ACC wires, and is the loom's earth good?
