Thanx !!

If all goes well... I'll post a msg!! Even if it didn't I'll let you all know!!

Matt, thanx for telling me about the MJR!

MJR were really nice over the phone and really helpful!

  • 2 weeks later...

Well the ticket didn't get waved......

so I'm making sure nobody(well... the police...) says anything about my tail light anymore.

thanx everyone for all your help!

Thanx Jesse for coming with me!

How does that work? You proved to them that it wasn't painted and you still have to pay it? That's total BS they can't fking book you on something that is a factory standard...

I really hope you manage to have better luck if you take it to court or sumsing

Since this is an easy case to defend in court yourself, and it would cost nothing except some time, ask to discuss the matter with a senior officer at the station this guy works at, ask for some intelligent intervention and state that you will take it to court if necessary.

I'm pretty certain, if the evidence is presented to one of the older heads that they will see sense in not prosecuting.

Judges hate to see matters that are just petty, pointless and wrong and will give the coppers a dressing down if they do present this case.

thanx everyone....

I doubt I will take it to court.... maybe go see the head of that station to talk to him about it.

I don`t have the time (got work everyday) to get summoned to court on the day they ask me to come.

I do wish most police are not this dumb.

I hope you dont pay... this is a perfect example of how we should stand up and fight against bullshit tickets....

my latest one was for driving with headlights on during the day (highbeams too) but still

I know what you mean...

but since the police man told me to prove it to him and I did... (with a bad answer from him)

all I can do now is to bring it to head of that station and tell him.

I dont have time to go to court now.... work work and more work.

I will try as much as I can but got doubts its going anywhere now...

talk to a compliance workshop that complies R32 skylines. They have ADR clearance/testing data for both coupe and sedan tail lights (sedans are variants on the original docs). This should show factory specification, translucency, colouration and reflectivity. Most of em won't give the info away easily (because they spent hundreds tabulating it, and you could be a competitor) but be nice and they might just give you a copy of that page out of the 100+ page ADR evidence book.

head of the police dont have much time since the indy's on in the coast in 2 weeks. Cops are all busy doing whateva they think they are doing.

Courts out of my mind at the moment. My work is buzzzzyyyyyy! Its summer time and all dogs need clippings!!!

I think I will go pay it soon.... or I'll get another fine for not paying.

*sigh*

Yeap definantly don't pay.

Also from everything I've read regarding mods and what is and isn't allowed I beleive that it doesn't matter as long as they remain clearly visable from a specified distance(can't remember the exact distance now) and obviously remained the same colour. I have my front and side indicators covered in nightshade. They are still clearly visable. I have never had a problem and even passed a proper RWC with it.

    • I appreciate the detailed explanation, think I understand now. I spent the better part of last night reading what I could about shuffle and potential solutions. I had replaced the OEM twin turbo pipe with an alternate Y pipe that is separated further away from the turbo. The current one is from HKS and I had a previous pipe that was separated even further away, both have shuffle. I had heard that a divider can be welded in to the OEM pipe to remove turbulence, and figure that aftermarket pipes that are more separated would achieve the same thing. From what I read, most people with -10 turbos get shuffle due to their size, though it's a bit less common with -5s on a standard RB26. I think Nismoid mentioned somewhere it's because OEM recirculation piping is common in Australia with -5 cars. It seems that the recommendation tends to vary between a few options, which I've ordered in what I think is most feasible for me:  1. Retune the MAP or boost controller to try to eliminate shuffle 2. Install OEM recirculation piping 3. Something called a 'balance pipe' welded onto the exhaust manifolds. I don't know if kits for this are available, seems like pure fabrication work 4. simply go single turbo My current layout is as follows: Garrett 2860 -5s HKS Racing Suction intake MAF delete pipes HKS racing chamber intake piping hard intercooler piping,  ARC intercooler HKS SSQV BOV and pipe Haltech 2500 elite ECU and boost solenoid/controller HPI dump pipes OEM exhaust manifolds HKS VCAM step 1 and supporting head modifications Built 2.6 bottom end All OEM recirculation piping was removed, relevant areas sealed off I'll keep an eye out for any alternative solutions but can get started with this.  Only other question is, does shuffle harm the turbo (or anything else)? It seems like some people say your turbo shafts will explode because of the opposing forces after a while and others say they just live with it and adjust their pedal foot accordingly.
    • That worked out PERFECTLY! Thank you big time to JJ. He was able to swap me his stock diff. He drove all the way to me as well. Killer! Removal & install was pretty straightforward. The diff itself is HEAVY. So that’s a 2 man job.  Man does the car drive nice now! Couldn’t have worked out any better 👌
