Need To Mix Own Fuel!

Need desperately to mix my own fuel cause only fuel available to me is 91 octane and as read on the forum the lowest should be 98 or 95 ron. I wanted to try the toluene but I cant seem to find it newhere is there a shelf item I can use that is close to 100% toluene. If I were to mix 20% toluene with the 91 octane fuel what octane number would that get me to. Thanks in advance guys for all your help!!!

Where are you that you can't get 95 RON fuel? Even Tassie has 95.

If you can't find it as "toluene", I doubt you are going to find it. Maybe "methyl benzene".

Bahamas!! All we import is 91 octane.

Toluene - C6H5CH3 - aka methylbenzene, methylbenzol, phenylmethane, toluol.

Im pretty sure tolulene is actually used an industrial solvent. Its not the only way to boost octane. Shell use it to help with cleaning carbon deposits.

Go buy an octane booster from an auto shop..

Don't buy an off the shelf octane booster, you might as well buy 500ml of toluene with some dye in it for $15.... call your local fuel depot, and make up some reason for wanting toluene/methyl benzene, ie cleaning engine block down etc..... 20l of it should cost you ~$45.....

No toluene only xylene can I use that instead? What are the negative side effects of using xylene instead of toluene?
