rb20-calais
hey, I want to buy a rb25 turbo and i think i have found one seems to be in good condition and the right place. The picture of the turbo i received has the part number as 45V1. I did a search and it said this is the part number for a r34 rb25 turbo but also i saw something that this is also the code for a vg30det turbo? is this the case? Anyway here is the link to the pic of the turbo http://www.pbase.com/image/17845412/original It looks in good condition but is it an rb25 turbo? please any help appreciated! thanx evan Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/18319-rb25-turbo-part-number-the-same-as-vg30-turbo/ Share on other sites
Mr Rb20
45V4 is the one you are after. That is the R33 turbo. I just did this swap last week and all i can do is do it and do it now. Best investment i ever made, what a difference it makes to the car. Bolts straight up too including the oil and water lines. Mr Rb20
more lag but comes on boost really really hard and holds boost all the way past the redline. i have an exhaust, filter, boost controller and Veilside chip. difference is huge. rb20-calais
cool. one of my mates is giving me his highflow off his vl ... with high compression it made 170kw@wheels on 14psi without a cooler (tolulene). i am going to trial it on my rb20, if it is too laggy and has bad driveability i will not buy it and get an rb20 turbo. i am leaning towards this because it can hold over 200rwkw and i know its in great condition. Thanx for your help. Evan P.S. anyone else used a highflow on their rb20? pros? cons? SteveL
Have you got any other pics ?? - That 'T' piece in the actuator line is characteristic of a VG30DET turbo. I know this 'cos I've got one in the garage, plus I've seen a lot of others and they all have this. The RB25DET turbs I've seen didn't.
