Brant Website

The top of the line is the Nemesis. It's a 6 point immobiliser with alarm and a few extras (some you must pay for). Most people i know with a Brant have had very little problem with it.

I've spoken to brant they are very helpful. Anyway the more people who commit the bigger the discount. Brant already give all Silvia NSW members a discount.

BUT one thing i found is that the 6points of immobilisation it hink only imobilise 3 components. The starter motor, electronics and fuel pump. There are just 2 relays per component. Although I'm not sure about this, this is something that I've been told by many automotive electricians.

yeah thats correct the other 3 points comes from the keypad...

Basically the same alarm system as the ones on the new sti/wrx minus the anti-car jacking feature and uglier keypad.... tried to get the installer to install the car jacking feature on mine but refused due to politics with Subaru.....

the only problem i have with it is the range isn't that great.....

I already got a brant system, its the aa02 tho so its not not the top of the range.

When i had one of the brant guys 2 come over & fix my alarm, he said that i can just upgrade to the Nemesis by getting the missing parts like the keypad etc, & it wouldnt cost 2 much also.

If you guys do decide 2 do a droup buy, please ask about ppl who already have a brant product & wants 2 upgrade to the Nemisis.

Thanks,

Joe.

gusy i dont knwo about u.. but alarms are soo ****en easy to bypass weather u got a 1400 one or a 300 dollar one... ask any one who installs em and he will tell u that it will take him hte same time to disable both of them if he wanted too..

i did a bit of research when i was getting mine... adn i couldnt believe how easy the things were to crack.. 2-3 mins and the alarm is disabled.. ure best solution i think would be to do a custom install.. diff coulour wires.. position of main control box in weird places..stuff like that is ure best solution

hey guys check this from the brant website

"

BRANT does not discount - our prices are fair and reflect the cost of experienced trained labour, tried and tested quality products and ongoing after sales service. Normally to discount means cutting corners and offering a little less than we are comfortable with. Our company is built on reputation, word of mouth recommendations and hard earned support from leading insurers and car importers"

i dun think they offer group discounts do they?

and you guys who fitted the AA02...

how much did it cost all up?

mc

:shake:

Travel time costs us money - if you can arrange two or more vehicles to be fitted with Brant systems on the same day at the same location we are happy to pass the savings on to you by way of an attractive 'multi car' discount. The cars can be your friends, relatives etc - the more cars you book on this basis, the bigger the discount! Talk to us about how much you can save this way.

Any alarm can be by-passed. Just like any computer can be hacked.

But not having one will make things easier for the theives to knock the car off. Sometimes a few seconds can make the difference in someone getting away with the car, and them getting caught red handed.

not sure whether this would work, but...

say you had a S-AFC and disconnected it when your car was parked, is it right to say that the car will not start without the unit?

I know for a fact that the car won't start cause my S-AFC was faulty with the throttle signal and the car wouldn't start.. so if i disconnected the unit.. then I think the car wouldn't start, but they'd have to rewire the ECU and air flow meter signal..

just a thought..

i recon thats the best idea that way you can get to ur car b4 the theif has a chance to disable it,.. coz theyll be able to disable it no matter what..

this wouldn't work because i have a keypad to start the car..

URMINE, it can be bypassed of course, but it would take them a little while to do it. :(

Brant do give group discounts. If you get the nemesis base model (no extras) its around $1100 retail. If you have two cars it comes down abuot $150 per car. Don't quote me on this cos this is what i was offered a month ago.

The AA02 is already cheaper so a big discount may not be offered HOWEVER, if you buy the AA02 through Autospeed its cheaper than the retail at Brant. AND Brant technicians come to install it anyway. This is what a friend did.

Yes all alarms can be bypassed by they are still deterrants.

christian.. ure keypad ull find is only a "gadget" feature. the key pad should be connected to a control box.. all u do is bypass the control box and any imobiliser/keypad will cease to exist.. litterly less than a 1 minute reconnectioin on a STANDARD installatioin..

im sorry man ure brant will most prob be as easy to bypass as my 350 buck job :(.. mine might even be a bit harder as when i did the installion i hid a couple of wires and a certain control box :(..
