I've been reading as much as i can so far on this problem that happens in most r33's and to no avail i still have a problem with mine.

it seems that my switch has slumped down and it keeps the relay clicking when the car is running and is starting to burn out the motor, my window goes up and down but only when i hit the motor and it seems to work, other times it just refuses to move at all, just the relay keeps clicking, any advice on how to go about this..

i really can't afford to take it to an auto lecky, i'd rather do the work myself but my question is do i need a new motor? im going to try chase down a 2nd hand switch, ive tried friends switches and still does the same thing, leaning more towards it being the motor. but if i keep the switch and buy a new motor and it fixes the problem most likely its just going to burn out the new motor i put in the car.

any advice on what i should look for, i hit the motor and it works.. then randomly stops working is just stupid, ive checked all the wires cleaned them everything i could think of kind of stuck at this point.

shit i pressed the add reply button b4 i wrote n e thin!!... ummm i yeah its a bastard of a thing!!!!.... i just spent last night and this morning on it... the black box next to the handle when u take the panel off is the teller if its the switch or sumthing else... the circiut board inside allows u to control the window... and it probably will work fine from there... so try takin out the switch all the way down to the electrics and u will find the 2 lil switches there... and if its like mine ull just need to replace the lil white switch thingy on it.... im still not sure where to get mine though... but yeah.. hope this helps..

ive pluged another switch in doesnt fix it, tried another box aswell didnt do anything, also have just taken out the electric board still looks alright both white things for the up and down move in the box, going to re-solder it tomorrow, so after that im stunned, and thinkin just going to buy a wreckers door and replace the whole lot...

bloody electronics!!... bastards of things... ummm... seeming u tried all that.. maybe it could be the motor for the window... however its 99% that its the electrics.. ummm... maybe try goin to a auto lecky and gettin a quote b4 replacing the whole door... ahh well... soz i couldnt be of much help

ive re-soldered the whole lot to the switch and the relay box, didnt help so need to chase up another motor now, getting tired of shit breaking, auto lecky meh i'd rather do it myself than pay someone my wage to do it for me :)

I had the same problem, you just need a new switch.. Just purchase from the wrecker..

I had this same clicking sound and it did burn out the motor but I got zoom imports to fix the motor for me.. Make sure you get the switch fixed before you fix the motor because it will break again easily.. I think Zoom charge about $160 for this.

You're in brisbane right?

mine sticks and clicks as well quite annoying isnt it. my switch gets stuck down if i pull it back up a tiny bit after winding the window down its ok. But yeah I will replace mine soon too

i got a window motor from alljaps vaginia for 125clams, and a switch from the for sale section. takes about half and hour to change the motor over then change the switch when u put the door skin back together again.

if u want more infor on how to get the motor out then send me a PM and ill try to explain it (its pritty easy).

Resurrecting this to add my experience with this problem.

I had the same problem with the clicking inside the relay box and no up or down with the window.

I opened the relay box from the connector end and checked the soldering to find one of the pins had cracked solder on the underside of the pcb board. Added more solder to this pin using a soldering iron and voila, window winds up and down.

If you're gonna replace the relay box, give this a go first.

    • If they can dyno them, get them dyno'd, make sure they're not leaking, and if they look okay on the dyno and are performing relatively well, put them in the car.   If they're leaking oil etc, and you feel so inclined, open them up yourself and see what you can do to fix it. The main thing you're trying to do is replace the parts that perish, like seals. You're not attempting to change the valving. You might even be able to find somewhere that has the Tein parts/rebuild kit if you dig hard.
    • Can you also make sure the invoices on the box (And none exist in the boxes) are below our import duty limits... I jest, there's nothing I need to actually purchase and order in. (Unless you can find me a rear diff carrier, brand new, for stupidly cheap, that is for a Toyota Landcruiser, HZJ105R GXL, 2000 year model...)
    • Murphy strikes again! Nothing at all would have gone wrong if you had the tool kit in the car! You'd have just found the clamp loose the next time you went to touch it...
    • I have been being VERY quiet about what you're alluding to, as it is something that ticks me off... The number of cars from factory that run coil overs is HUGE! Most of them these days do... The other part that annoys me, is people saying "Well all the incabin adjustable suspension is illegal by blah blah blah"... If that's the case, then why can I buy a car brand new that can do it if, FULL STOP in cabin adjustable suspension is illegal...   Also, I could just chuck some aftermarket shocks in my car, throw the stock springs on, after my blue slip, dump my super low springs back in. Same shock and spring style setup... Hell, they could also be the same colour springs etc.     I'm voting, BlueSlipper didn't want to touch the above car for some reason. Whether it be some sort of bias against the car, the owner, them maybe having previously done dodgy shit and now they're being super careful in case they get slapped in the face by the Gumbyment again... Find a new blueslip place.   And can confirm as you had said, yes there are holy bibles of vehicle heights, and all sorts of other suspension stuff. Heck your run of the mill mechanic, and tyre shop has access to all of that stuff. It's how they do wheel alignments...
    • Funny story Heading to Sydney this morning on the HWY there was some slow traffic, so I gave it the beans and midway through my overtaking "power run" I lost all power It seems that I missed a hose clamp,  and the MAF and filter went WiFi To make this more problematic, the little tool kit that lives in the boot, is sitting in the sun room at Goulburn......LOL Luckily for me I found a bit of steel on the side of the road that could be used like a rusty and bent flat head screw driver to tighten it up enough that it got me into Sydney, it is now all tight like a tiger with the aid of a 8mm socket Note to self: Use my brain and double check stuff, and always keep that little tool kit in the car for when I have a brain fart
