Well 370rwkw - pretty much your usual RB26 build.

R33 GTR crank (or 32 with collar)

Stock rods with decent rod bolts

Forged Pistons

Usual pretting/maching and so on

HKS2530 or similar

Bit of a head tidy up

Injectors

AFMs

ECU

Exhaust/Dumps

Clutch/gearbox (if you dont already have)

Probably freshen the diff

Suspension/brake upgrages

Replace all hoses around the motor etc etc.

Your easily looking at 30k spending, if not more.

Plenty of info on ~370rwkw RB26's lots of em around.

The usual forged bottom end; no real need for major head mods - just a clean up when you fit Tomei poncams; T04Z or GTSS or GTRS's; power fc, 700cc+ injectors, bigger fuel pump; oil mods won't hurt and also a decent oil pump like JUN, HKS, Trust etc

There will be other requirements, but these are the basics.

You don't really need twin highmounts to achieve the power you are after, unless you just want them for the sake of having them. My twin 2835's made a lazy 411rwkw on 1.1 bar, but the abovementioned turbos in previous posts can easily make the power you need, which is plenty for a street RWD car.

ye, i too would advise against high-mount.

While it looks good (depending on turbo choice), its not as functional when there is a wide range of products out there that easily fit your goal, and use the stock gear tahts tried and proven.

Highmounts just means massive cost, for no better gain. And well... 2530's really arent that impressive (size wise), so high mounted from the looks, they would be so-so

Are you after the show aspect here mainly?

R33 box will take 370rwkw no problem.

Main reason for that is you wont have any traction no matter what you do :ninja:

You'll be fine IMO in RWD with a R33 box. I raced mine with 370rwkw 3-4 big days (20+ runs each time) and cant say i noticed any issues... but then i didnt have one iota of traction

twin high mounts would be a massive waste as the turbs would be fairly decent sized (unless u had plans to build an 800+rwhp car), and for street ur mums camry would flog the shit out of u, have no boost till 6k lol... i have seen a guy get custom manifolds made up for smaller gt2870's or something rather to mount them high, (HPI magazine) although it looked funny as they arent that big in terms of size...

id personally go twin 2530's low mount save money on manifolds and have a crazy response set up

    • Possibly avoid using a Cometic one unless the deck/head surface are perfectly flat. I did have a look just then and forgiving gaskets such as Tomei or Nitto don't exist for the FJ20, however the Bar-Tek or Kameari ones look good and might do the trick.
    • Because pipe threads for pipe things. M threads for bolt things. Throw some teflon sealant onto it and dust your hands off knowing you did the right thing, instead of going twice around the block to achieve a result using the wrong things. Of course, all of these solutions are ignoring the fact that the minimum thread pitch we're talking about here is 1.25mm, with the 1/4" in NPT or BPS being out around 1.4mm. You will need to know that the boss you're tapping has enough thickness for at least a few threads. That's one of the reasons that 1/8" is commonly used - because the pitch is <1mm. And why would you look to use 1/4" NPT in a BSP country anyway? Ugh.
    • Just throwing around ideas, does it need to be in the compressor cover? Why not the hot side piping?
    • 1/8NPT drill size = 8.7mm. Since the hole got messed up by me, it’s probably around 9mm.    So 1/4” NPT would be next step. A drill size of around 11mm would be preferred there which is not way of my M12 (drill 10.5mm and tap M12 threads)
