Normal paranoid virus warning

I'm pretty anal about virus warnings, but I've really been bombarded with the W32.Klez.H@mm virus (see http://www.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/[email protected] for details.

One thing it does do is mass mail outs, but it changes the "from" address to one of the other adresses in your address book. I've had people emailing me saying I've sent them the virus (one guy sent me the header which showed the email with my address actually came from someone in Italy) Fun eh?

I'm clean of the virus (latest updates from Nortons etc) but also have set outlook not to download email > 100kb. Once I see it not downloading some messages I clean out the email on the server with a freeware utility called Email Remove - http://www.soft-ware.net/internet/email/ei...gang/p00485.asp Find the download buttons at the bottom of the screen.

Ryan try http://www.freebyte.com/antivirus/ for some free anti virus programs. Alternate try to find a copy of Nortons V4 for Windows in the software bargin bins in computer stores (the current updates work just fine with it)

Im on Windows XP so hardly any seem to be compatible

Try http://www.avast.com/

and http://www.free-av.com/

They both work on XP...and will give your modem a bit of a thrash to download

My files were e-mailed everywhere

all the people from my list, then evreryone from there list -- so on and so on

don't u know its all a conspiracy

the guys that make the virus work for the anti virus company who has shares in the porn sites.

so they attach the virus to the porn and watch the maney come in as they fix it.

That W32 klemm virus is running rampant in the western sydney Area health services Wide area network too.

I hate viruses but it is one of the smarted genuis viruses in a long time.

You know what? Even if you install norton whiul you have the virus or you try to run norton when the virus is activated you just get an error and you cant clean the virus!

"apparently" i am safe from all these viruses (being on a Mac)

But I'm going to burn a copy of all my personal stuff anyway, cos I'd hate to lose it.
