Hey guys.

I have built an RB30/26 Head.

MODS

rb30 series 2 block

rb26 head (fully reco)

PAR rods

Aries Pistons

All ARP bolts

ACL Racing Bearings

Race preped crank

High Energy 8.5Lt sump

Knock Sensors Moved higher on the block

Nismo Twin Plate

After Market Smaller Balencer

870cc Injectors

Jun Oil pump

Jun Drive Collar

External Oil return (back of head to sump)

Thickest Cometic metal head gasket (recommened by rocket to use with the aries pistons??)

High mount manafold

Garret GT3071R

Surge tank with 044

After market fuel rail

After market pressure reg

Link G2 ecu (with air inlet temp sensor)

I think thats everything

Ok heres my problem

The engine has been having oiling issues since it was built. we first installed a tomie oil kit into the block with no luck. It still poored oil into the catch can at mid to high rpm. We then pulled the head off and blocked off the rear oil feed. Seamed to work better but still puts oil into the catch can. Part of the issue is that when hot the oil pressure sits at around 25-35psi at idle but any touch of the rpm and it jumps to 100psi.

Does anyone have any sugestions? I was thinking of some how turning the pump pressure down??? is this easy to do? if so how?

Just as a side note the engine made 230Rwkw and 560Nm torque on 13psi

Also anyone got any sugestions on a new turbo? cant be to lagy

have you looked at our oil controll thread by Sydney Kid ?

Did you run a oil return line from the back of the head to the sump?

did you make the oil return holes bigger to the sump ?

did you change the baffles and go for some after market ones?

Im hoping you forgot to put the crank collar in your list of mods, or youll be looking at more than a sump off job soon. Do you know what bearing clearances you are running, tight clearances increase oil pressure.

hi mate,to drop pressure in an oil pump you need either a weaker relief spring or the same tension spring but shorter in length.. the sump must be removed then you can see the oil pump relief nut, undo that and a spring and plunger fall out. then its a new spring and away you go.

    • Yep, the closest base tune available was for the GTT, I went with that and made all the logical changes I could find to convert it to Naturally Aspirated. It will rev fine in Neutral to redline but it will be cutting nearly 50% fuel the whole way.  If I let it tune the fuel map to start with that much less fuel it wont run right and has a hard time applying corrections.  These 50% cuts are with a fuel map already about half of what the GTT tune had.  I was having a whole lot of bogging when applying any throttle but seem to have fixed that for no load situations with very aggressive transient throttle settings. I made the corrections to my injectors with data I found for them online, FBCJC100 flowing 306cc.  I'll have to look to see if I can find the Cam section. I have the Bosch 4.9 from Haltech. My manifold pressure when watching it live is always in -5.9 psi/inHg
    • Hi My Tokico BM50 Brake master cylinder has a leak from the hole between the two outlets (M10x1) for brake pipes, I have attached a photo. Can anyone tell me what that hole is and what has failed to allow brake fluid to escape from it, I have looked on line and asked questions on UK forums but can not find the answer, if anyone can enlighten me I would be most grateful.
    • It will be a software setting. I don't believe many on here ever used AEM. And they're now a discontinued product, that's really hard to find any easy answers on. If it were Link or Haltech, someone would be able to just send you a ECU file though.
    • Yes sir am asking is there possible way from aem tuner from wiring pins
    • Have you checked cam to crank timing and confirmed balancer marks are correct?
