Dos
In the process of replacing my dump, front and cat. At the moment Catco seems to be promising, the guys from Xspeed recommended the HKS cat they've got down there. Anyone using the HKS cat at the moment? Or can recommend some good quality cats? Feed back seriously appreciated. DOS Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/187684-top-catalytic-converters-on-the-market/ Share on other sites
SKYRYAN
Actually I'm about to get a dump/front and maybe ill do cat aswell... would love some reccomendations! PS. XSpeed will be reccommending HKS because they are a HKS dealer, I'm sure HKS are great aswell but maybe there is better bang for buck if you know what I mean. That's what I'm interested to find out! taynewguy
I just got my early christmas present from Nengun: Blitz Nur Spec R catback, Blitz front pipe, tomei dumps and going to use 3" X-force cat (non metallic). Spot the weakest link as far as brand name goes! This will be close to the worst on the market me thinks.....but if it dies, I guess it was a cheapish experiment at $160 delivered. Kaido_RR
not sure the difference between Japaneses brand name cat and aus spec brand name cat. but on an option video there did a back-to-back dyno of r34 gtr with no cat then apexi cat. and with the apexi cat it only lost 7hp. personally i dont think its worth it as Japaneses branded cat cost upwards of $500 And as mention before Xspeed will try to sell you the product which they are a dealer of Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/187684-top-catalytic-converters-on-the-market/#findComment-3386456 Share on other sites
taynewguy
Well I guess if my dies in the arse I'll just have to get it high flowed by Dr Hammer and Chisel As you can see, I'm just trying to justify being a cheap-skate. If I had my time again I'd probably spend the money on a Metal Cat or Catco (~$400-500). I'm with mikey jap brand at >$500 is a bit much and would not justify the minimal gains over an equivalent Aus one. JieLine
I got a CATCO one from a group buy, its very good Apparently the Metal Cat brand ones are good too and these are much cheaper than big named ones.
