Ok, thought id put it up here see what yas think.

First happened maybe about a month or so back, filling up tank, got near full and fuel started to drip out underneath. Thought id just overfilled, even though the pump hadnt 'cut off' like it does when its full.. Got the car checked to be sure, mechanic couldnt find any leak..

Next time i filled up, did the same but this time was gushing out for a few seconds and then stopped.

Then yesterday was on empty so filled up, got bout $25 in and fuel started pouring out and the pump cut off, like it was full, which i knew it wasnt. Tried to put another $5 in and again pump cut off and fuel leaked out.

Nobody can find any leaks and it only happens when im putting petrol in. So.. with not even half a tank, the petrol was coming out the bottom as i was filling up?

Sounds crazy but i dunno whats wrong with it lol

Hey flick,

You should take somone with you when you fill your car up to watch what happens and where the fuel is coming from.

i am suspecting that you have a hole in the fuel filler hose that connects to the fuel tank and it is leaking out as you are pouring in.

Especially as people have inspected your fuel tank and there is no visible holes.

The smell is really only there after I fill up.. well thats when its strongest. Taking it to mechanic monday to get it checked closer. The guy at the servo did come out last time cos i was at the pump so long, and was checking underneath and even he said it really does appear as though its coming out the bottom of the car, out of the fuel tank itself.

G'day let us know what happens here as im getting the same problem/s with filling up leak and smell in car but the smell i get also comes from just driving as well. Ive checked the hoses where fuel pump is and didnt seem to bad

see my post also

ive fixed several cars with same issue, along with my gf's r31, and every time it was the rubber tank O ring that seals the top access port for the fuel pump, once this is perished or in the case of where workshops have taken them out and not put back in their seat properly, thewy will leak when full and always be fuming,

    • Oh, also, forgot to add these photos I believe.
    • Thought i'd update on this. I was able to get in contact with Craig Lieberman and later on Darryl Alison (owner of Kaizo Industries). Darryl was able to help me verify that my car was in fact one of theirs and is helping me find more info on mine !
    • There's restrictor pills in the stock boost control hoses. That's how they set the amount that was bled off and hence the "high" boost setting. The usual mod in the day was to remove it and send the "high" boost setting up to about 14 psi.
    • Thanks Duncan, that's the best info I've read. Furthermore after learning about the PCM programming side controlling the factory boost solenoid, the purpose of the solenoid is to "bleed" boost when pin 25 is earthed, thus allowing spring pressure in the wastegate actuator to overcome diaphragm boost pressure, thus closing or reducing the position of the wastegate flap creating more boost as the turbo is able to spin faster. It's pretty cool to see a designated Pill to do exactly this, would have liked to have seen it with a tiny filter over the end for those moments in vacuum.  The constant bleed pill has now been removed completely from the system and solenoid boost control has been restored once again.   Case closed 😂
    • The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.
