coopsers ale house isn't bad! i went to this pub last week on hutt st in the city. i think it's called havelock or something along those lines? it was tastey, even the king beef snitzel which was like 600g? was tastey, didn't get sick of it

was it tastey though?

so, ive had a shitty hour. decided that today being payday id cruise on down to local shell to pull some money out of the atm, and then head to the bp to fill the 200 with ultimate,

left the shell servo no worries, popped it into second and put my foot back on the gas, engine revved a little strangely, almost too quickly, without the car gaining any speed, bit odd i thought, but no matter, into 3rd and it does the same thing, and i start to smell clutch, f**k. so instead of heading to the servo i just started driving home with the slip getting worse and worse and worse, only just got the damn thing home, f**k.

FINALLY got the oil cooler, filter relocation kit that i ordered on ebay...

WORST ebay seller that i have come accross. had ZERO communication from this guy, not even a please pay me, or an invoice for my payment being recieved from him.

i emailed him throu ebay 4 times, with no response.... and the kit turned up on my doorstep last night.

i was so frustrated that i had tracked down all his details (through various menas that i have) and was about to book a flight to go "visit" him in QLD and have a "frank discussion", when it turned up... now i know that the flight/accomodation would have cost more than the cooler. Its the principal of the thing really.

BUT... now i have an oil cooler :P :P :( just gonna wait for my next oil change, n in she goes

well i just went for a drive in the skyline and got pulled over TWICE!!!! the second time wasnt so lucky got fined for no p plates, do i lose demerit points for that? !!! lucky no defect though.

Everyone I know of who didn't display P plates had their licence suspended for 3 months or so, but that was years ago. It is 'probation' afterall. Think you'll be getting a notice in the mail. Maybe they're more lenient now. Can anyone else clarify?

Yes - 3 demerit points. Although, I've seen talk in the news about reducing it to 2 demerit points...

But it's still 3 demerit points. Which means, if you're on your P's... that's all the points you can have! Even getting another 1 demerit point will be license loss :P

Edit: Ruby, no license suspension anymore. Just demerit points. Has happened to a countless number of my mates. One even got done for a faded P plate, which the cop just put down as "No P Plates"

ah not good dave what it slips 1st gear no boost? noremally you notice 4th and 3rd slipping first under load and boost

yeah, slips it all gears, off the clutch in first to get moving, engine revs to about 5k rpm and inches forwards, driving around in any other gear it struggles to move.

yeah, me thinks so, lookin at an exedy at the moment, should do the trick.

gonna wander down to the car yard i got the thing from to see if they'll cover the box which recently started acting up, might try and throw the clutch in too.

    • yeah first and reverse is where you will find clutch release issues (whether hydraulic or mechanical) because the difference in revs required is the highest there; particularly changing down from 2nd to 1st when still moving. To be clearer though, it is possible that the clutch release bearing is the wrong height. This is less likely than a hydraulic issue but it is not unheard of when you are mixing and matching
    • Quite right, if you make it to that pension you deserve every cent
    • Hi all, Restoring r33 series 1 rb25det. All the heater hoses were on their way out, have replaced them and put it all back together. After testing I noticed a small leak from behind the head on the actual metal water line to the turbo when cars warm. I tried running a longer hose over it but it kept leaking...   I am about to take the (stock) manifold off again😔 to change the water line does any one have any lines they recommend? I was looking at Aeroflow Turbo Oil & Water Line Set but not sure what everyone else recommends. Car is completely stock but want to upgrade turbo eventually. it looks like ill have to disconnect a lot just to replace these lines so if there's anything else recommended to do please let me know. Thank you in advance!
    • From memory, on the R33 GTSt at least, while everyone says "It's not adjustable", I found when I changed clutches in mine, it just needed a small adjustment on the rod length. But be very wary here, as you could end up trying to push the pushrod in the master too far, or blowing out the slave.   Most likely though, if the master/slave isn't bypassing internally or leaking out, then the throw out is the wrong height compared to the fingers on the clutch, so when it moves to disengage the clutch, it isn't 100% disengaged. You can check part of this out too by jacking the car up, having the engine running, put your foot on the clutch and try to engage 1st gear. If it goes in pretty easy (Compared to the ground) and/or the wheels start turning a fair bit and it takes a bit too much brake pedal to bring them back to a stop, this is likely the issue.  I'm not sure if you can adjust the height of the forks etc in these though, it's been that long since I've touched any RB gearbox.
    • That's all good, I thought I was missing some interesting feature! Maybe @PranK can double check if that is something that is meant to be operating or not.
