Back from the World Superbikes at Phillip Island. Got back home at 3am this morning ... still feeling the big weekend. Working from 6.00am thru to 6.00pm. Got positioned at turn 1 for "recovery" (of crashed bikes and riders). Did anyone watch the National Supers race and see the 3 bike pile up into turn 1? I was there. 3 riders down, 2 out cold and 1 very pissed off. Good thing it was on the last lap, so the race had ended anyway. Took a while to clean that one up. Biggest highlight of the working weekend.

Biggest highlight of the non-working moments was the big FAIL to Vic police who capsicum sprayed half the pub when a fight broke out. That shit is nasty :P

Anyway, might go to bed again and catch up on more sleep :P

BTW the rear tyre on the Brutale got trashed :P

hahaha thats funny as about the gtr stuff.......

thank god i own a non turbo tho :P so much easier but i must admit there was a dude in the N/A... section who said his car was non turbo but he had the Red/White GT Badges and on the rear bar he had a GTT badge..... i have to admit it was quite confusing until he said that the car had a non turbo engine put in it before he brought it. nfi why tho.

Went down to Michaels new shop Carline today. I recommend him, he did my exhaust at Aussies and really knows his shit. Plus he had a few 2jz's laying around, asked if I wanted to throw one in... Has really got me thinking..

ive only rally found the Do Luck ones and the ones that Viva Garage have got...........just spewin that i wont be able to fit GTR fenders on unless i change the bonnet and front bar :P

why does life have to be soo cruel in that way? :P

yeah gtr guards are basically for gtr front end conversion, unless you spend a mint getting them moulded onto standard fronts.

i want something a little wider with a vent, i love the look of the vent.

im not worried about spending the extra money on fitment cause the car will be going in for a full respray next year and ill get them put on when that is getting done....

krishey - u gonna come to loxton for dinner are you??? :P

and nah muirsky not getting new rims - i got them last year lol im really happy with the 19's anyway they look really good especially with this years graphics design :P

    • Yeah in that case, pulling the dent out. Event a very slight dent can create a lot of work filler-wise and there is a strong chance the panel won't be the factory shape when you are done (as the dent will result in a new high point created somewhere, then everything is brought up to that new high point... but the panel shouldn't be that high if that makes sense).  So you've filled and primed the panel and it is flat, why would you go back and remove the primer and add more filler?
    • Something else I have been faffing with while the car was off the road is making the AC work. Assuming the car isn't at a thermal limit the idea of having AC while waiting in line to go on track sounds delightful. I have actually been lugging around the weight of the entire system since 2018 when the RB25NEO went in without it working at all.  The main reason was in the first few events before I got around to re-gassing it the rubber hose that runs under the manifold had the factory heat wrap/sleeve fail resulting in this: ~2 years ago I purchased a complete used R32 AC line set but when I finally went to install it the line i needed was different where the expansion section is I found a local place that was able to replace the rubber section and re-crimp. They also added some modern heat sleeve to the hose Tight fit but fingers crossed this is the last physical piece of the puzzle needed
    • the top black section is bonded to the silver section with some form of rubber. I assume to isolated NVH from the box
    • Plan B? Get someone to machine up a metal bush/collar/whatever it needs to be to replace the rubber? I haven't had a close look at that part recently to have a proper feel for whether that's possible. But it might be easy.
    • I do not want to install a short shifter and the only other stock throw shifter I have seen is the Nismo "Rigid shifter" for $290 So plan A is to fill it with sikaflex to stiffen it up and hope for the best
