Ruby, SteveP, 5LTBETR & Deluxe, consider this a friendly early warning.

Noted Sled. Sorry for your headache :P

This all started because I rick rolled ns.com. I thought it funny, they didn't. However, prob started long before that. I go to ns.com for a chuckle, like the guy who reported his car stolen then wanted it back. They're the ones I'm referring too as being stupid. I see that kind of threads on ns frequently. So I'm disliked for pointing out the obvious.

I do not apologise for having a sense of humour ... but I do apologise for the reaction from ns.com spilling over into here.

Yes if someone hates NS - could you tell me why.

Its just weird, I don't really hate any forums but I don't take anything seriously on the internet, so that might be the reason why.

I was running with the Why So Serious thread in ns.com and they got serious. Obviously my humour is above their tolerance, so I've learnt my limits. It could have been dealt with by a Mod deleting the thread and PMing me a warning ... but I got the ban stick immediately. Questionable. The AJD thread, they got stuck into my car, and I ignored them for the most part. They hate me for not playing along, and pointing out the obvious stupidity at times. I do the same thing here.

I don't take the internet seriously. There a lots of kids being something they're not on it. But I do find most of the members I meet rewarding. I find a few forums enjoyable, such as SAU and TLZone (been a member there for over 8 years) due to their members. So regardless if it sound slike I'm rubbing ns.com the wrong way, there is no disrespect to NS.com at all, only certain members.

And for the record, those previous 7 bannings I have incurred are not related at all to the SAU SA club and occured for questionable circumstances, such as:

- for sale thread which was not to their standard, deleted, and before I was notified I noticed it missing and reposted = ban;

- putting a near nude pic of Jessica Alba in my avatar, it was removed and I was warned. I argued there was nothing out of order with the pic and it was tasteful. I was banned for my "talk back";

- when I returned from my holidays for the above mentioned ban, I put a diff pic up (but similar) and got banned for good;

- once got banned without warning from a forum for "violation of rules", but never informed what the offence was. Just never went back;

- got banned from a bike forum too for posting a vid of me doing a burnout. Banned for something like "promotion of hoon behaviour". This was 5 years ago and on private property :(

- once I got banned for good because a mod from a bike forum had a big problem with me, which started over a simple disagreement. We caught up and "sorted it out" and he abused his powers and banned me for good, because he didn't get the favourable outcome.

And now ns.com

Granted, my giggles at ns.com are not in the best interests of the SAU SA club, however I am entitled to whore in wasteland as a forum member, and if I'm out of order I'll take the warning from the Mods. I'm merely a member of the SAU SA club at this time, not a Committee member. If I were, I'd be thinking harder about my posts before I submit them and I would certainly be more professional. And in any case, some ns.com members' dislike for me has no relation to the SAU SA club. :sick:

So ... getting away from that whole mess ...

:D

Of course not ... much. :(

Why so serious?

edit: Hey, hey. I just got a ban from ns.com for the rick roll :sick:

You got banned coz you're a toss, who has no taste in cars (you may as well make Commodore guards for the rear of your wagon...it's the next logical step) and was just plain annoying :P

So ... where is a good place to get silicone hose clamps for an intercooler? I want to replace mine with new ones, but fear being charged too much and can't wait for ebay forever. I've sold my old fmic and piping and the current ones need to go to the buyer. :sick:

Need 2.5" and 3" ... don't want those simple radiator-style clamps either.

If you had the same taste as Ruby than I probably would tell you what I thought. I've been on here for years, it's just that I don't frequent here as much since I got rid of my Skylines.

Don't take it as a stab to SAU. I'm sure there's lots of great members, but having someone like Ruby run your forums is hardly a smart move.

Nevertheless, be assured that what I told him about his car is also what I'd tell him to his face :P

I'm sure you could make plenty of comments about my own, however you probably care as little as I do about the matter, and as such don't have the time to write a detailed explanation of how you feel about what I had to say.

I guess at the end of the day Ruby went to NS.com with the wrong intentions, thought he was funny and didn't read forum rules, and was banned after that.

I tried to suggest a better course of action for his car, and in his blinded, poor styling way told me he HAD taste.

That is clearly not the case.

PS. Ruby, speak to Autobarn, or any other generic supplier. They would have the biggest range in stock, though quality hose is never really cheap. Otherwise call some workshops to see if they have some older stuff lying around.

lol who said ruby runs our forums? you also comment on Ruby not reading forum rules, but you continued to slander him after a moderator posted a warning not to? and if you dont have time to write a detailed explanation, why did you bother coming here?

trust me, i dont care as much as you say you dont, but the wasteland is filling up with bullshit that everyone has just been warned about.

I'm purposely avoiding bagging Ruby too much. At the end of the day I read the warning from the moderator, and as such decided to delete my initial post. I have plenty of time atm. Bit of a quiet time, hence bothering writing here etc.

"Taste" is the eye of the beholder :sick:

I think I got my last clamps from Autbarn previously, but I recalled them being a bit pricey. Super Cheap have some awkward clamps (imo) that don't allow fitment in tight spaces. But if I gotta pay a decent coin, then I've got to. What kind of workshops do you recommend? ATS is a tad far for me to get to during a lunch break.

Any idea if Coventry Fasteners stock suitable clamps? I know they're only a phone call away, but they don't always answer their phones in a hurry.

At least you have brakes as well as the grunt! :( We're all one big happy family when we can all stop and count to 10.

    • For once a good news  It needed to be adjusted by that one nut and it is ok  At least something was easy But thank you very much for help. But a small issue is now(gearbox) that when the car is stationary you can hear "clinking" from gearbox so some of the bearing is 100% not that happy... It goes away once you push clutch so it is 100% gearbox. Just if you know...what that bearing could be? It sounding like "spun bearing" but it is louder.
    • Yeah, that's fine**. But the numbers you came up with are just wrong. Try it for yourself. Put in any voltage from the possible range and see what result you get. You get nonsense. ** When I say "fine", I mean, it's still shit. The very simple linear formula (slope & intercept) is shit for a sensor with a non-linear response. This is the curve, from your data above. Look at the CURVE! It's only really linear between about 30 and 90 °C. And if you used only that range to define a curve, it would be great. But you would go more and more wrong as you went to higher temps. And that is why the slope & intercept found when you use 50 and 150 as the end points is so bad halfway between those points. The real curve is a long way below the linear curve which just zips straight between the end points, like this one. You could probably use the same slope and a lower intercept, to move that straight line down, and spread the error out. But you would 5-10°C off in a lot of places. You'd need to say what temperature range you really wanted to be most right - say, 100 to 130, and plop the line closest to teh real curve in that region, which would make it quite wrong down at the lower temperatures. Let me just say that HPTuners are not being realistic in only allowing for a simple linear curve.
    • I feel I should re-iterate. The above picture is the only option available in the software and the blurb from HP Tuners I quoted earlier is the only way to add data to it and that's the description they offer as to how to figure it out. The only fields available is the blank box after (Input/ ) and the box right before = Output. Those are the only numbers that can be entered.
    • No, your formula is arse backwards. Mine is totally different to yours, and is the one I said was bang on at 50 and 150. I'll put your data into Excel (actually it already is, chart it and fit a linear fit to it, aiming to make it evenly wrong across the whole span. But not now. Other things to do first.
    • God damnit. The only option I actually have in the software is the one that is screenshotted. I am glad that I at least got it right... for those two points. Would it actually change anything if I chose/used 80C and 120C as the two points instead? My brain wants to imagine the formula put into HPtuners would be the same equation, otherwise none of this makes sense to me, unless: 1) The formula you put into VCM Scanner/HPTuners is always linear 2) The two points/input pairs are only arbitrary to choose (as the documentation implies) IF the actual scaling of the sensor is linear. then 3) If the scaling is not linear, the two points you choose matter a great deal, because the formula will draw a line between those two points only.
