Front part of the exhaust will need changing too. Buy a GTT, much much simpler when considering registration hassles too....

what do you mean?

the engine i have found includes mainfold with the turbo on it.

and no, im not buying a gtt.

i couldnt give a rats about rego now lol once the rego runs out end of june she wont be registered again untll october,.and thats cause of the fact i got 3 shows on 3 consecutive weekends, and rego up here is cheaper than it is in adelaide :P

Front/dump pipe part that bolts to the back of the turbo will be different to your NA

You'll need to change engine number for registration and also more than likely *(I'm not 100% sure) you'll need an engineers certificate because of the turbo addition.

oh ok well getting a dump pipe aint that hard lol

not sure on the engineers certificate i know i have to fill out some form letting them (regency i think) know about the engine swap and they send me out a list of stuff i have to change, something like that. ill give em a buzz tomoro

diff, suspension, drive shaft.

im just plucking but there could be other potential things in there.

only benefit i see in moding the current 1 is you wont have to swap over your body kit. thought that woulda been an easier job than swapping an otherwise perfectly good engine out of a car.

and the stereo of course

diff i can get away with, i dont intend to be doing burnouts anyway

suspension is same as gtt (my lowered king springs and shocks are from gtt), clutch is gtt too

- 1 AGAIN to the media.

we are being blamed for a hep. A outbreak in our semi dries tomatoes. funny that seeing as :

A: we do not make them, they are grown/dried/packaged in queensland.

B: we do not supply interstate ( where other cases have been found)

C:we are haccp certified.

D: there are 3 other major suppliers of semi dries in adelaide, all of which come from the sphincter of the universe where food safety is nearly non existent. (ours are aus)

Once again, media blabbering without re-search.

:P

He still doesn't know :D His son does and also works with us, he sent me a message not long ago saying people were laughing and beeping all the way home and the old man couldn't figure out why :(

thats pure gold. lol nice work hahaha

    • I don't know it is due to that. It could just be due to load on track being more than a dyno. But it would be nice to rule it out. We're talking a fraction of a second of pulling ~1 degree of timing. So it's not a lot, but I'd rather it be 0... Thicker oil isn't really a "bandaid" if it's oil that is going to run at 125C, is it? It will be thicker at 100 and thus at 125, where the 40 weight may not be as thick as one may like for that use. I already have a big pump that has been ported. They (They in this instance being the guy that built my heads) port them so they flow more at lower RPM but have a bypass spring that I believe is ~70psi. I have seen 70psi of oil pressure up top in the past, before I knew I had this leak. I have a 25 row oil cooler that takes up all the space in the driver side guard. It is interesting that GM themselves recommend 0-30 oil for their Vette applications. Unless you take it to the track where the official word is to put 20-50w oil in there, then take that back out after your track day is done and return to 0-30.
    • Nice, looks great. Nice work getting the factory parts also. Never know when you'll need them.
    • Thanks @jtha7 I will have a look around tomorrow but it is a prick of a spot. These are some photos i tried taking
    • I take it that the knock retard is from bearings tapping a little tune? Thicker oil is a fragile bandaid. You need a much bigger oil cooler and probably the bigger pump being discussed.
    • Hi @Chupapy i had several leaks from coolant pipes being corroded, i also had one leak on back of the head onto transmission. For me that leak was from the turbo water line. Follow the line to the back of the head The hose and metal pipe had perished these are the best pics I took of it at the time
