Nengun has the pfc boost control for around 470 delivered? I guarantee Luke ENR can get it cheaper too... Both are fine, just depends if you want another device in your cabin or not i guess.

i didnt look on nengun. must do me thinks lol

Cara if your after 300 at the moment then you will something like a GT3071 + cams +porting + lots of boost and you may just still fall under 300kw but it will be more responsive that the other option which is a GT3076 which will make 300 with cams and has the potential to make more.

As for the RB25/30 build, if you are after a big power engine then do yourself a favour an go for a 26 head straight away. 26's have all the good stuff straight away like solid lifters and cams to suit as well as not having the VTC gear which you can't run with big cams. Although the NEO's have the solid setup they have a problem with an exposed oil gallery once you go over 9.25mm of lift and therefore your potential power is limited. The other good thing about the 26 heads is the availability of aftermarket parts like a wide selection of cams, valves, springs etc etc.

if i got 26 head it means im gonna have to muck around and get another ecu and whatnot when ive already got one now. was going to go custom cams anyway with the 500rwkw build, they cost the same as buying them off the shelf (around $1200)

great, another option for them to bump up prices

damn, i hope they dont shelve the mobil 98 octane... thats gonna poop on my parade (caltex dont sell any form of 98 here in SA but they do interstate - what gives? :(

-D

EXXON are going to become suppliers only have no fear Ben there will still be a mobil 98 just branded something else may even be caltex

dad said caltex make some of there own fuel but they wont have enough to supply 302 new stations with fuel

also there is a clause that they have to purchase fuel for the next 5 years

I wanna be different, so i am thinking of a Rb25/26 (RB27) conversion, i think someone in SAU:Perth did one. It had around 400rwkw, saw it in a old HPI mag, i don't wanna go to the same extent he did, but finding info is near impossible. Anyone like to help out later down the track when i blow my engine up and rebuild to a RB27?

ATM i am planning for around 250rwkw or above. I have nismo 740cc injectors on the way, have front/dump pipe & exhaust manifold, a Haltech e11v2, and still deciding on either a GT3071R or GT3076R. The guy i bought the front/dump pipe from had a GT3076R making 280rwkw on a RB25, was saying when it hit boost was just wheel spin.

Im running standard turbo at 12psi, making a little over 200rwkw with power fc, fmic, free flowing exhaust, bleed valve. standard fuel pump, coilpacks, injectors, cams + gears, etc. i've considered the turbo upgrade options, but have something else in mind at the moment. high flow turbo will see 250ish, maybe a bit less, but if your building a dyno queen, your gonna need something like Ryan has on his 33, i think its 3582R? or if its a dyno queen, read: not for road use, you will probably benefit from a high mount turbo setup.

i run a built engine and big turbo, so does that mean u im a "DYNO QUEEN"...???

so if u run a big turbo like a GT35/40 it makes u a"DYNO QUEEN"" also WTF?????????

u dont see me entering stupid dyno comps

the only reason my engine is FORGED is coz a certain "well known workshop" blew my motor up on their dyno after i spent big $$$ with them!!!!!!!!

I don't know why people say that a RB25 with a RB26 crank/rods will make a RB27 because it won't.

RB25/26/30's all have the same bore 86mm so the only difference between the engines is the stroke. So guess what, if you fit a RB26 cranks in a RB25 you end up with an RB26 because the bore and stroke is the same as an RB26.

or might hit up a 1jzgt-e for it..

mad custom work.. just want something special :(

Why don't you do what a bloke in the States did with TE27 and fit a 1UZ-fe, I'd say that you'd be the only person in Australia with a V8 keto. Having said that the CA would still make more power.

    • Nah that is not actually a lot. Just painting my GTR frontend and the little bits to make sideskirts/nismo flare pieces work correctly/fit on the sedan/mount up correctly came to about $7000. Is it a lot? Sure. None of this is economical. Economy would be shelling the car and buying a 2010 Corolla to commute in. The perspective of all of this is different.
    • I have the 2025 build re003s’ on my 06 XT Forester Turbo and I quite rate them for street wet and dry
    • I don't see any issues here. I've been saying all along this is a big job, the price reflects that.  When the car comes back perfect I'm sure it will feel like money well spent.

    • So, I started this repair and got as far as "fixing" the holes with some fibreglass. God all those years working on boats came back quickly. I decided I'd reach out to some rust guys just to see what they would say about it. I came across a guy about 40 mins away and went to see him. He said the windscreen needs to come out, that there might be some more bits around the windscreen and he'd quote them at the time. But his quote was $300 to remove and replace windscreen and $3k for the damage he can see. He said he could respray the roof for $1200 and the bonnet for another $800 (somebody has previously rattle canned it, its horrendous). This is $5300 + any small additional bits. It's a lot, I get that and the name of one of my fave youtube channels 'Not Economically Viable' comes to mind.  I'm not being financially rational, but I've taken him up on the quote. He's opening a new shop in November with more room, so we're waiting for that. I'll leave the currently missing headliner out until then. I'm looking forward to it being fixed and having the paint looking nice again (lots of clear coat issues on the roof too). / flame suit on.
