Hi all

Well Well Well........a half decent story on ACA!!!!!!! Lets not turn it into a shit fight....but needless to say there are alot of people in this thread eating massive huge gobfulls of humble pie after stating the story would be shit, incorrect, poorly reasearched and do more harm then good. I'd say we had a win tonight.....maybe a small one...but a win none the less.....and if the problem and solution (a new track) stays in the media.......I'll happily be called a Hoon for the rest of my life! That story showed us responsible 'hoons' out at Mallala having fun, messing around with cars and in some cases....CRASHING!

BWHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHHAHHAHAHHAHA.....I remember when that side of your car was straight Stewart......Oh and my sign is missing you bitch!

Now.....where too from here I hear you ask....email Rann etc......WRONG! That idiot has had his time......leave him out of the 'go zone' for a public project like a new track....that way he keeps his grubby mitts off the adulation and public support when it's done. You need to look slightly to the left!

Ladies and Gentlemen....your mission if you choose to accept it is to bring a few new players into the ring....players who can pressure the current Government like we can not.....like the so called Consortium can't. The players I refer too is as follows;

Shadow Minister for:

Shadow Treasurer

Shadow Minister for Federal/State Relations

Shadow Minister for Government Enterprises

*NOTE - HAVE LOOK AT WHAT THE DEPUTY LOOKS AFTER!!!!! MONEY AND GOVERNEMENT INTATIVES......WHICH = A NEW FACILITY!!!!!!!

Your email to cut and past is as follows;

Dear Isobel and Steven,

I watched with pleasure at the A Current Affair segment covering 'Hoon Driving' compiled by Kelly Klappis which aired on Channel 9 6:30pm Tuesday 4/8/09. This story adequately represented the REAL problem on our street, and highlighted the immense ommision the current Rann Government is overlooking when tackling the problem of street racing and related deaths on our streets.

You may not know, but Adelaide is desperately needing a legal, readily accessable off street racing facility. We celebrate Clipsal 500, we applaude the Classic Adelaide....but for nearly 10 years the nearest tangible facility to legally drive in a spirited manner is some 1 hour north of the city at Mallala. Adelaide International Raceway has ceased mainstream public opportunities for 10 years, and the nearest CAMS sanctioned drag strip is over 7 hours away in Victoria.

An independant Adelaide consortium has 25 million dollars waiting to construct a new multi-motorsport facility, but talks with the Rann Governement over land allocation have stalled/ceased. The Rann Governement has openly stated it will not support the construction of a new facility, denying the consortium the ability to offer an alternative avenue to street racers....denying the opportunity to assit in reducing the South Australian road toll. The Rann Governement would rather fine, crush and penalise modified vehicle owners. If a new venue saved one life.......this would be worth more than 1000 crushed cars, or millions of dollars in speed camera revenue.

As the Opposition, please investigate these claims, please action the publics desire for a new venue. The automotive industry in SA is massive, and like a big River Gum tree, it's roots and branches spread far and wide. You can be assured a public show of support from the Liberal Party on this matter will generate not only support for your party....but a huge voter swing come election time in 2010.

As much as the Rann Government deny it, the hoon problem on our streets is a POLITICAL ISSUE, and a new venue is a viable way to help reduce the problem. Support us......and we will support you.

Yours truly

Turn the tide against those that refuse to recognise and support a realistic problem.....cut, past and send this email to the above addresses and do you part.

I stood up and did my bit, and will continue too any any opportunity. Now's your chance!

RJ

Thats a pretty good idea, email the other side of the fence, Mike Rann does not want YOUR votes.... he will not listen to what WE want... so bring new players into this game and see how we go...

Lucas and QFM are cheap and good.

Lucas and QFM are cheap and good.

Got QFM in the wrx now very good pad, not dusty little bit squeely when cold but after normal stop there fine...Good bang for buck.

On a 2nd note just been told there closing my work down, rolling closure over next month or so..f**k :whistling:

I highly doubt that such a statistic would be available Steve, but never the less, as I always say and as 'racin jason' has also stated in his formal letter, if a race track saves just one life, then it was all worth it.......just ask the parent's of that teenager that lives to see his own children.

i read a good article in Boost Magazine supporting the new motorsport infrastructure, and the writer mentioned the decrease of "hooning" in the area when WSID was built. Surely there is some sort of positive and definite info floating around that the consortium can use?

This email is directed at anyone who has played a part in slowly killing South Australian motor sport, and in turn increased those that tragically lose their lives every year on South Australian roads.

As a voter, I would like to voice my opinion and state that Mike Rann will not be getting my vote unless he wakes up to the demands of so many and provides car enthusiasts with the facility to enjoy their hobbies.... Read More

I am not alone.

Are there statistics anywhere that prove young lives are saved where there's a facility to take it to the track?

Are there statistics anywhere that prove young lives are saved where there's a facility to take it to the track?

Are there statistics to prove that economies improve with extended tramlines?

Are there statistics to prove that people are healthier with a new hospital development?

Are there statistics to prove that speed cameras have indeed saved lives?

The government went ahead with spending money in these areas, with no proof. Why do we need to prove we need a motorsport complex? The public is screaming for one. And the government doesn't need to spend a cent! :whistling:

CNNEL 9 has the report ACA did on drifting at G1.... lets see what they twist!
great last ending words... government doesnt think it will help and will not invest! WANKERS!

They started off with a commy doing a burnout (negative)....saying hoons doing their hooning legally....since when did we became hoons if we are out on the track???? (negative)......and those last words "the govt claims there is no stat on a track decreasing fatality on the streets" now how many commy's, falcooon's, mesoshitty's, camry's on the street are involved in crashes day in and day out....doubt they will be the one going on the track.....but where do the people (minority) take their performance vehicles to test it out etc (very negative)

So apart from a few positive points made by the people being interviewed there wasnt much positive in that story.....oh and showing a car doing a burnout not even in oz i mean seriously WTF

Lucas and QFM are cheap and good.

Lucas i am using them and absolutely loving it.....similar to QFM's they are cheap, not mega brake dust and stops when you need it to lol

I'm not stating that we need to prove this state needs a race track, merely a serious question asking are there statistics that show it clearly. Was not a piss take!

yeah no probz, I understood the manner in which it was given and I don't think Ruby was having a flame :whistling:

awesome

havent slept for a few days (knee pain), last night midnight when for a run thru the Hills

wow. insane 3rd gear awd power wheelspin.

also fog in higher areas was so thick couldnt see more than 10m in front.

still, had a nice test run, boosts so hard all the way thru.... such an awesome turbo/cam combo

well, the 200 is finally running again. its f**kin awesome. pulls harder at 10psi than it ever did at 15 psi. its rad.

so pulling harder while squeezing less, feels like you can get to where your going faster....lol

sorry, setup again.

good on ya dave, just dont blow it up now...lol

    • Even more fun, leave all the ADAS stuff plugged in, but in different locations, hopefully avoid any codes!   And honestly, all these new cars with their weird electronics. Pull all the electronics out Duncan, and just shove an aftermarket ECU and if needed a trans controller in, along with a PDM. Make it run basic but race car styled!
    • To follow up a question from earlier too since I had the front bar off again (fking!) This is what is between the bumper and the drivers side wheel And this is the navigator side, only one thing but its a biggy! So basically....no putting coolers in the wheel arches without a lot of moving other stuff. Assuming I move to properly race prepping this car I'll take that job on and see how the computers respond to removing a whole bunch of ADAS modules
    • So I prepped the car for another track day on Wednesday (will be interesting to see coolant temps post flushing out and the larger reservoir, with a forecast of 3-14 being 20o cooler than last time I took it out). Couple of things to mention; since I am just driving the car and not taking a support vehicle, I took the rear seats out and just loaded the back up Team Trackday style. Look at all that space! To cover off removing the rear seat....it is weird (note the hybrid is probably different because it wouldn't have folding rear seats) Basically, you remove the lower seat base, very similar to a r series but it is a clip that pulls forward to release the base rather than it being bolted down. Easy Then, you need to remove the side section of the rear seat on each side. There is a 14mm head nut at the bottom of the side piece, the it slides upwards off a hook at the top to release; you also need to unhook the seatbelt from the loop at the top. Then the centre piece is weird. You need to release/fold the seats forward with the tab in the boot on each side From there, there are 2,x12mm headed bolts holding the rear of each seat to the folding bracket, under the trim between the rear seat and the boot (4x christmas tree clips there, they suck). The seat is out but you can see where the bolts attach to the bracket
    • As discussed in the previous post, the bushes in the 110 needed replacing. I took this opportunity to replace the castor bushes, the front lower control arm, lower the car and get the alignment dialled in with new tyres. I took it down to Alignment Motorsports on the GC to get this work done and also get more out of the Shockworks as I felt like I wasn't getting the full use out of them.  To cut a very long story short, it ended up being the case the passenger side castor arm wouldn't accept the brand new bush as the sleeve had worn badly enough to the point you could push the new bush in by hand and completely through. Trying a pair of TRD bushes didn't fix the issue either (I had originally gone with Hardrace bushes). We needed to urgently source another castor arm, and thankfully this was sourced and the guys at the shop worked on my car until 7pm on a Saturday to get everything done. The car rides a lot nicer now with the suspension dialled in properly. Lowered the car a little as well to suit the lower profile front tyres, and just bring the car down generally. Eternally thankful for the guys down at the shop to get the car sorted, we both pulled big favours from our contacts to get it done on the Saturday.  Also plugged in the new Stedi foglights into the S15, and even from a quick test in the garage I'm keen to see how they look out on the road. I had some concerns about the length of the LED body and whether it'd fit in the foglight housing but it's fine.  I've got a small window coming up next month where I'll likely get a little paint work done on the 110 to remove the rear wing, add a boot wing and roof wing, get the side skirt fixed up and colour match the little panel on the tail lights so that I can install some badges that I've kept in storage. I'm also tempted to put in a new pair of headlights on the 110.  Until then, here's some more pictures from Easter this year.
    • I would put a fuel pressure gauge between the filter and the fuel rail, see if it's maintaining good fuel pressure at idle going up to the point when it stalls. Do you see any strange behavior in commanded fuel leading up to the point when it stalls? You might have to start going through the service manual and doing a long list of sensor tests if it's not the fuel system for whatever reason.
