Anyone have pics of the GMS R32 with the front wheels off so I can see the front suspension setup. If its anything like the rear setup it not exactly std nissan.

Cheers

cannot find any in my collection.....may be earlier on in this thread..... if you wait a couple of weeks(19th-20th sept) it should be up at Lakeside racing.

From memory 1984 (Rovers) was churns and 1985 (Jags) was an overhead rig, no maybe we didn't use overhead rigs until the BMW's. Too many Bathursts ago, 1,000's and 12 Hour races to remember, maybe time I got the video out again myself. When they were used, the churns were filled from 44's, which were on scales to record their usage. My pit job was crunching numbers, TWR had their own technicians, no Aussies got to touch the cars much at all.

is there much demand for the 84 rover as per pic as shown in post no.86?

my uncle passed in jan this year & handed this car to me just before, biege with only 75000km, 3.5ltr v8 with 5speed, forged bottom end, touring car style wheels as per pic - it was his pride joy :P

One of these went on ebay about 4 years ago for an astounding AUD$104! For a sticker!

I picked one up for under AUD$10, also from evilbay. You don't see these around very often now.

i'd like 1 of these stickers for my big toolbox, maybe even the back window of my gtr...where is it best to get 1, ebay?

Mine was free, and will never be sold. Lived a few doors down from a mechanic who used to work on the GMS cars, whom now works for Apprenticeships Victoria. His name has slipped my mind at this moment.

I guess after seeing a stream of modded 31's, a 1600 and stagea out the front he thought I would appreciate it!

I got mine off evilbay but they come up so infrequently - in fact I've only ever seen two there - the one that went for over AUD$100 (it actually went for $102 now I've checked!!!) and mine.

Attached is a resized scan. Mine doesn't appear to have the Nissan logo on the left either.

    • just an update to this, poor man pays twice  Tried sanding down the pulleys but it didnt do the trick. Chucked another second hand alternator in the na car which I got for free off my mate and its fixed the squelling. Must have been unlucky with the bearings.    As for my turbo car, I managed to pick up a cwc rb alternator conversion bracket + LS alternator for 250 off marketplace, looked to be in really good nick. Installed it , started the car and its not charging the battery.... ( Im not good with auto elec stuff so im not sure if this was all I needed to do but I verified such by using a multimeter on the battery when the engine was running and I was only getting 12.2v )   I had to modify the earth strap for the new LS alternator , factory earth strap was a 10mm bolt which did not fit the bolt on the LS alternator which was double the size so I cut it off , went to repco bought some ring terminals that fit, crimped it onto the old earth strap and bolted it up to the alternator , started the car and same issue. Ran like shit and was reading 12.2 at the battery.  For a "plug and play" advertised kit thats not very plug and play but alas.  My question is , am I missing something ? Ive been reading that some people recommend upgrading the stock 80 amp alternator fuse to a 140 amp but I dont see how that would stop the alternator charging especially at idle not under load.  Regardless ive pulled it out and am going to get it bench tested by an auto elec tomorrow but it would be handy to know if ive missed something silly or have done something wrong.
    • My wild guess is that you have popped off an intake pipe....check all of the hoses between the turbo and the throttle for splits or loose clamps.
    • Awesome, thanks for sharing!
    • To provide more specific help, more information is needed. What Android screen? What is its wiring diagram? Does the car's wiring have power at any required BAT and ACC wires, and is the loom's earth good?
    • So, now all you need to do is connect the 2 or 3x 12v feeds into the unit to permanent 12v, ACC 12V and IGN 12V that you can find in the spot behind the stereo, and the earth, and then it will switch on with the car.
