Need some help/advice.

I notice the left front and rear of the car is lower (especially front). Am using Tein NON-height adjustable, only soft-hard adj. Checked the alignment/camber and its all good.

Mech said might be the shocker itself faulty.

Anyone experienced before?

Cheers

yep. My last set of non adjustable tiens were like that. Passenger side rear sat a bit higher.

If you have NA or NR check and see if there is circlip height adjustment. Otherwise you are kind of stuck.

So there are Teins non-adj eh? One of my mate told me that all Teins are height+damping adj. But when I look at mine, I can't see any circlip thingy. I tried playing with the damping adj and found out there are 22 clicks for me to adjust. I need it higher as the car front bar hit the parking ramp.

Will changing to 17" wheel with 45series tire make it higher? (am still using factory wheels)

depends on tyre width.

235/45-17 will be a couple of mm taller, 225/45-17 will be about the same.

But yes, there are some older entry level struts and springs that are non adjustable, i can't say i've looked at the bottom end of the current line up closely to confirm if it is still the case

Shock absorbers DO NOT control ride height. Only the spring controls how high the car sits - the spring is supporting the weight of the car. The shock absorber controls the motion of the spring thru bump and rebound.

Try swapping the springs to the other side (ie, L>R, R>L)

True, but tein and others also make shocks with height adjustments via circlips. The circlips control the position of where the springs sits on the shock body. Thus you can heighten and lower your car with height adjustable shocks.

updates in conjunction with my Tein for sale post.

I have changed to factory shockers and my car still lower on the left side.

Not sure hows the previous mech did the alignment, but I brought it to Ultratune and they said the alignment screwed big time. All my tires worn out unevenly and it became not road worthy anymore. Recommended to get tire changed and the alignment properly done.

So i guess nothing wrong with the Tein.

Cheers

    • I thought Australia got rid of the "drag dodgy fuel up to 91 RON with ethanol", which is why all E10 advertise as "up to 94 RON" ? Anyway I put E10/91 in the missus' Mazda because she empties the tank weekly, when all my cars get 98RON. tl;dr - turbo - 98 RON, if you can't afford that, sell it and get a commuter car (or tune your car for 91, which no one does).
    • Yeah i found that alot of parts can be wrong or "very" hard to get the real right one. I already bought some brakes years ago on me "old" GT calipers and they were wrong too 😄  I told them too. Even send them pictures...but they said "EBC catalogue has them on my car... So i dont know what their answer will be. I call monday them and let them know that they are really not on my car. If they were they would be already on a car...
    • Welcome to Skyline ownership. Yes, it is entirely possible parts websites get things wrong. There's a whole world of inaccuracies out there when it comes to R34 stuff (and probably 33 and 32). Lots of things that are 'just bolt on, entirely interchangable' aren't. Even between S1 and S2 R34's. Yes they have a GTT item supposedly being 296mm. This is incorrect. I would call whoever you got them from and return them and let them know the GTT actually uses 310mm rotors. Depending on where you got them from your experience and success will obviously vary.
    • Hi...a bit a "development" on the brakes. I spoke to the guys where i get brakes from...and they are saying that 296mm EBC are for R34 GT-T. I then went to their site: https://www.ebcbrakes.com/vehicle/uk-row/NISSAN/Skyline (R34)/ and search for my car(R34 GT 1998 - it has GTT brakes) and it show me this USR1229 number and they are rly 296mm rotors... So now iam rly confused... The rotors i have now on the car are 310mm asi shown... So where is the problem? Does the whole EBC got it wrong or my calipers are just...idk know what?
    • Oh What the hell, I used to get a "are you sure you want to reply, this thread is XX months old" message. Maybe a software update remove that. My bad.
