I havnt really had much trouble with my Hicas, one time cruizin on freeway 130km/ ish went to change lanes n felt like my ass went out lol i craped my pants lol i wasnt expecting that at all. Was going to get a lockbar but it hasnt bothered me since, next time i feel it... itl be gone! lol

Plus after cruizing for a while at constacnt speed my hicas dash light used to pop on, didnt do anythin bot it, and havnt seen it on ever since those couple of times.

funny that as in my old R32 GTS4 i used to own there was this one stretch of rd right near blakehurst where everytime I drove over one particular spot of rd the car would midly step sideways and correct itself very quickly.Very rarely did it anywhere else but always on this one spot...at 80kmh its not very confidence inspiring

thanks to those that slaged me yeah i was going fast but you all were not on the cruise and i didnt ask for you all to be nasty so thanks :glare:

love all of you that were helpful and gave me some tips on how to fix/evaluate the problem :(

thanks michael for sticking up for me

i think what people are trying to say is, it might not have been ur HICAS that caused u to crash, so if u lock the HICAS dont expect it to never happen again. the rear coming out on a RWD turbo car when u put ur foot down to "power out of it" isnt unusual, are u 100% sure the rear just didnt lose traction?

not having a go, but u dont want it to happen again just because u assumed it was a HICAS issue and that it wouldnt happen again, and at 80k's ur lucky it wasnt a lot more serious.

thats ok if you cant poke fun at me who can you poke fun at and if its me your making fun of then your all leaving someone else alone lol thats the way i see it :) what can you do but laugh i have learnt a lesson anyway

fear the rear wheel steer, this looks like its turning more than 1 degree like they say it does

the hicas debate will never end, i always hear people saying you can get round corners faster with it, prob can on a couple of dvd's ive seen they reckon its faster for a average weekend racer to have hicas but if your a michael shoemaker i hear its faster if you have the lock bar.

i damn sure aint no shoemaker but mine came with it locked and i reckon i prefer it that way, least i know whats happening with my rear end

cost me big time on a trip to regency though. :)

    • Jack the back of the car up, pull that wheel off, pull that sensor out, and put a bore scope into the hole to inspect the outer casing, see if anything looks damaged before you pull the whole thing apart.
    • Ergh... So I pulled the speed sensor out again and the tip was shiny so I think it's rubbing the bearing. The bearing contains the magnets for the speed sensor so I think when the first sensor broke it damaged the magnet ring on the bearing.  This is just a Google image, but there is a hole going to the bearing. So when the tip broke off the old sensor I'm guessing it fouled the bearing... As the magnet is only protected by a plastic cover it would be easy to damage it. So I guess I'm doing a bearing again.
    • My thinking is that if the O2 sensor is shot then your entire above described experience is pure placebo.
    • Here is the mess that I made. That filler there was successful in filling dents in that area. But in the middle area. I can feel dents. And I've gone ocer it multiple times with filler. And the filler is no longer there because i accidently sanded it away. I've chased my tail on this job but this is something else lol. So I'm gonna attempt filler one more time and if it doesn't work I'll just high fill primer the door and see where the issues are because guidecoat is of no use atm.
    • Ok, so I think I sort of figured out where I went wrong. So I definitely overthinked it, and I over sanded, which is probably a large part of the problem. to fix it, I ended up tapping some spots that were likely to be high, made them low, filled them in, and I tackled small sections at a time, and it feels a lot better.    I think what confused me as well is you have the bare metal, and some spots darker and some are lighter, and when I run my finger across it, it' would feel like it's a low spot, but I think it's just a transition in different texture from metal to body filler.    When your finger's sliding on the body filler, and crosses over to the bare metal, going back and forth, it feels like it's a low spot. So I kept putting filler there and sanding, but I think it was just a transition in texture, nothing to do with the low or high spot. But the panel's feels a lot better, and I'm just going to end up priming it, and then I'll block it after with guide coat.   Ended up wasting just about all of my filler on this damn door lol
