Can you give ball park figures for a full leather retrim. Front and rear seats. I know prices will vary with different option, but just a rough idea would be good. Also, can you put up a few pics of your work. Cheers :P

Hey mate, leather is damn expensive! about $100 per square meter. Its ridiculous, but... Its leather haha, you pay for what you get. I could trim your front and rear seats in leather for ABOUT $2500-$3000. Depends on how much time is involved in trimming your seats.

Ive come across a VERY nice vynal that i love using and im even temped to put it in my car because its only about $40 per metre and comes on a roll thats 1.4m wide. Its actually quite an expensive vynal but if your not willing to pay the full price for leather, then this is the way to go for sure!

i could do front and rear seats for roughly $1500 in this material.

I will post some pics up in about 10 minutes and all the seats that look like leather are actually done in this particular vynal.

oh and by the way those prices are for your average seats, GTR's are NOT average seats haha, much more time consuming. but atleast those prices are rough numbers you can work off.

Okay thanks guys

That looks awesome. I'm really interested in getting something like this in around Jan next year. Everything is a bit mad atm. I wouldn't mind seeing that vinyl to get an idea of what it feels like. I might give you a call a bit closer to the time :P

how much can you do for the door inserts, and the rear trim inserts, also the gear boot and hand break boot for?? i got the material already. and some repairs/regluing, cant be spacific tho

Edited by Flash89
would also like to know about the prices for a handbreak boot.

mines looking terrible atm.

cheers.

Hey mate you'l be looking at $40 for a brand new handbreak boot.

andddd, those door inserts for me to just put your material in i can do it for $45 per door. depends on the car but that should roughly cover it.

Let me know if/when you want to do it and ill book ya in:)

Thanks guys

its a R32 skyline. will you be able to give me a price with the gearboot and hand brakeboot which i have the material already

thanks

Hey mate when you said rear trim inserts... Did you mean in your seats or your door trim inserts?

if you supply material for handbreak and gear boot ill do the 2 of them for $60, but it has to be UV treated material... Well it doesnt, but if its not treated it just wont last very long in the sun thats all... No huge deal, probably last years anyway haha:)

Let me know

its like the door inserts but there isnt a door at the back, if you know what i mean, the material is leatherette. what i have been told is that it is just a cheaper version of leather

Hey mate, i can do the whole lot for $250. thats all 4 doors and the gear and handbreak boot. Given that you take your door trims off and you supply the material

Thanks mate

Hey James,

I rang during the week regarding some wood panelling for my Van and at same time retriming my GTR seats, well i though i'd show a few pics so you have a better idea of what I was on about

I have bought this VW Crafter for work

Crafter.JPG

The load I am carrying although reletive light, is tall and tips over from time to time and is leaving pressure dents from the inside out on the Skin, so was hoping you could cut out and trim van with some 3 ply wood or similar like van below (Red area only)

crafterpanel.jpg

As for the GTR I am sourcing a pair of these Sparco Sprint V seats

And need the Back seat , and door inserts trimmed to match.

I will call you next week when you have ABN

Cheers

Lindsay

BTW, can you get the 'Sparco' label trimmed into the rear seats...?....if so would that be gay..!.. :P

Hey mate yep i understand what you mean about the van. theres gotta be some way around it ill have to have a look at it first though. I would have to find sumwhere to mount the board etc. Or if your not too fussy maybe we can just put a thin but strong layer of foam to take the impact? We'll sort it out next week:)

and yes i can put the sparco into the rear seats for ya:P

    • I thought that might be the case, thats what I'll start saving for. Thanks for the info
    • Ps i found the below forum and it seems to be the same scenario Im dealing with. Going to check my ECU coolant temp wire tomorrow    From NICOclub forum: s1 RB25det flooding at start up Thu Apr 11, 2013 7:23 am I am completely lost on this. Car ran perfectly fine when I parked it at the end of the year. I took the engine out and painted the engine bay, and put a fuel cell with an inline walbro 255 instead of the in tank unit I had last year. After reinstalling everything, the engine floods when the fuel pump primes. if i pull the fuel pump fuse it'll start, and as soon as I put the fuse back in it starts running ridiculously rich. I checked the tps voltage, and its fine. Cleaned the maf as it had some dust from sitting on a shelf all winter, fuel pressure is correct while running, but wont fire until there is less than 5psi in the lines. The fuel lines are run correctly. I have found a few threads with the same problem but no actual explanation of what fixed it, the threads just ended. Any help would be appreciated. I found the problem though. There was a break in one of the ecu coolant temp sensor wires. Once it was repaired it fired right up with no problems. I would have never thought a non working coolant temp sensor would have caused such an issue.
    • Hi sorry late reply I didnt get a chance to take any pics (my mechanics on the other side of the city) but the plugs were fouled from being too rich. I noticed the MAF wasn't genuine, so I replaced it with a genuine green label unit. I also swapped in a different ignitor, but the issue remains. I've narrowed it down a bit now: - If I unplug and reconnect the fuel lines and install fresh spark plugs, the car starts right up and runs perfectly. Took it around the block with no issues - As soon as I shut it off and try to restart, it won't start again - Fuel pressure while cranking is steady around 40 psi, injectors have good spray, return line is clear, and the FPR vacuum is working. It just seems like it's getting flooded after the first start I unplugged coolant sensors to see if its related to ECU flooding but that didnt make a difference. Im thinking its related to this because this issue only started happening after fixing coolant leaks and replacing the bottom part of the stock manifolds coolant pipe. My mechanic took off the inlet to get to get to do these repairs. My mechanics actually just an old mate who's retired now so ill be taking it to a different mechanic who i know has exp with RBs to see if they find anything. If you have any ideas please send em lll give it a try. Ive tried other things like swapping the injectors, fuel rail, different fuel pressure regs, different ignitor, spark plugs, comp test and MAF but the same issue persists.
