I was all set to purchase and build a TechEdge unit, but decided against it.

Innovative are very popular and must sell 10's of 1000's of units. I have mates that use em with only others that cost $1000+ being faster and more solid (read: output stability with altitude change)

Reading the output from something I made myself and then making ignition / fuel changes seemed a little risky to me :P

WB Shootout Test

Paid for by Innovative maybe, but Bosch's spec sheet shows the LSU to move around with age... so having a unit that you can free air calibrate seems to make sense to me (unlike the PLX)

Although some people have had issues with the LC1 (RF noise, heat sensitive etc) they still seem like best option to me. Ordering mine next week to push into Datalogit. XD16 and AuxBox should come in handy too.

My thinking is, many of the units out there are good, and are a god send when they work... not so when they dont - so support was a big + for me.

okay I think they gave replaced it or are sending me back the broken one so I can bury it in my garden somewhere

I like the first option better

So when it gets here Ill reinstall and let you guys know

From what ive been reading on the Innovate sites forum a few ppl have had theres just die on them

Maybe a bad batch

But for the price of the unit $220 landed in oz I think these would be the best buy

I'm using the xd-16 kit with no complaints, logging to the laptop in logworks as well as watching live on the guage, only complaint is I dont think you are able to log ecu parameters (tps, rpm, temps etc) in the logworks program or vice versa- Logging in two seperate programs is a bit of a pain in the arse. Innovative do have modules to take rpm etc but it just gets very messy with three seperate innovative boxes under the dash (plus a fourth for rpm etc) as well as an ecu and cdi unit (Note two of these are tc-4 for egt).

A mate has road tuned using the lm-1 with good results also.

Repost bruv, 8 posts up

The loggin issue through separate apps is stressing me out too. Using some of Innovative's gear you can log so much stuff... but its still separate from Datalogit

    • It is a kunfine Android screen . Does anyone know the wirering diagram of the fuga ??
    • just an update to this, poor man pays twice  Tried sanding down the pulleys but it didnt do the trick. Chucked another second hand alternator in the na car which I got for free off my mate and its fixed the squelling. Must have been unlucky with the bearings.    As for my turbo car, I managed to pick up a cwc rb alternator conversion bracket + LS alternator for 250 off marketplace, looked to be in really good nick. Installed it , started the car and its not charging the battery.... ( Im not good with auto elec stuff so im not sure if this was all I needed to do but I verified such by using a multimeter on the battery when the engine was running and I was only getting 12.2v )   I had to modify the earth strap for the new LS alternator , factory earth strap was a 10mm bolt which did not fit the bolt on the LS alternator which was double the size so I cut it off , went to repco bought some ring terminals that fit, crimped it onto the old earth strap and bolted it up to the alternator , started the car and same issue. Ran like shit and was reading 12.2 at the battery.  For a "plug and play" advertised kit thats not very plug and play but alas.  My question is , am I missing something ? Ive been reading that some people recommend upgrading the stock 80 amp alternator fuse to a 140 amp but I dont see how that would stop the alternator charging especially at idle not under load.  Regardless ive pulled it out and am going to get it bench tested by an auto elec tomorrow but it would be handy to know if ive missed something silly or have done something wrong.
    • My wild guess is that you have popped off an intake pipe....check all of the hoses between the turbo and the throttle for splits or loose clamps.
    • Awesome, thanks for sharing!
    • To provide more specific help, more information is needed. What Android screen? What is its wiring diagram? Does the car's wiring have power at any required BAT and ACC wires, and is the loom's earth good?
