Hey there guys im new to the scene, My names Geraus... I just got my skyline R33 Series II 1996 manual im currently from the Northern Suburbs.. The power is amazing,but i think i am having idle problems.. the car is stock as a rock, like when im idle'ing in the traffic.. my engine idles funny..like its going to stall but my rev's arent moving...when doing a funny idle.. or is this normal? because of the heat.

This is my first turbo car, my 1st car was a Honda Prelude 1997 VTi-R,the skyline has much more power...

i have been researching on this fourms quite a while now and the fourm is very good and very helpful from time on i am more happy to contribute a donation to keep this fourm running as the help is very good. I am also willing to come to the SAU cruises and meet some intresting members when there on so i'l keep my heads up.

Now i am going to mod :) I will research around. im having in mind a turbo back exhaust and a front mount.

Hi Geruas, welcome to skylines australia, i'm sure you'll enjoy your new ride. Looks really nice and clean :)

Exhaust, pod, FMIC will definitely be good mods to start off with :down:

You might want to look at the Tutorials / DIY / FAQ section where you can find really useful information down the road.

welcome. its good that you've actually done research before getting a skyline. much better approach than mine - buying a car when i didnt even know that there were 3 models of 'line lol.

car looks clean. and i rekon the exhaust and cooler are a good place to start.

hehe DNGRUS, i called you last week... LOL i said i was from broady n i wanted to have a look at your car.. but then i found this one :) hehehe. i asked for your address, emsta2003, i will.. at the moment now im just ordering iridium spark plugs... im having a idle issue.

Nice bud and welcome!

Unless you like the induction/sucking noise of the pod i would bother till you're making over 230rwkw. The std airbox, with a good filter will be more than ample.

With your idle best to start with the basics.

Change plugs, gap to 0.8mm.

Maybe even pour a bottle of injector cleaner in the tank, the next time you fill up.

Does it have an aftermarket BOV?

hey and welcome. im still new hear myself and this is the best place to get info on skylines, i researched for about 6 months before i found the right one that i wanted for now. someone that kinda lives near me, well actually kinda near my work. anyway im from sunbury and work at airport west so its not to far away only like 20mins. need any questions answered this forum is definately the way to go.

      You just need a different blue slip shop (preferably one you regularly use as a mechanic), and make sure the coil overs are as close as possible to standard height

      yeah the sugar refining companies were pushing for the same in Oz originally, all fuels were going to have 10% ethanol to make them "cheaper" (noting, that the loss in l/100 might be greater than the decrease in price). I guess they won that fight in Canadia

      GTSboy, thank you again. i’ve been reading all the other SAU RB25 vacuum line threads and you have the utmost patience for people asking “where do my vacuum lines go”. it’s appreciated. i did also enlist a few other RB guys local to me.  i would like to run 5 to 4. turbo pressure side to wastegate actuator. i would like to run 3 to 1. power steering air valve line to intercooler outlet. (this is how it was previously). i was told 2 is the bleed port for the boost solenoid - which i’m not running - so should be capped.   anyone see any problems with that?

      So yes. All of them. Something like 98% of all fuel in the USA has 10% ethanol: https://afdc.energy.gov/fuels/ethanol-fuel-basics It's labelled as like, AKI, 87, 91, 93 with an E10 or E5 or E15 label on the pump. At a certain point, it's not just "E10" instead of 91. It is 91, 95, 98, and all of them have 10% Ethanol in them. You can also get E85 and E30 which is why you do see some people rolling around with E30 tunes in them.

      Thanks for the response. This is an 04 EP3 Type R. JDM spec. Fairly certain they're just basic BC racing coils. I do plan to keep as the ride quality on stock I've been told is pretty meh given Sydney roads. If I were to go down that avenue, does NSW require them to be a certain spec (close to original) etc?
