We haven't got long now and I imagine most of us will be spending the day before Marques in the Park polishing our pride and joys - Should we look at meeting up somewhere and helping each other out with hows, whys and why nots etc

If not the day before, we could choose another day/evening etc but need people there like Mick (Bullet32) to provide guidance etc and to hit us over the back of the head if we do something silly.

I'm sure some of you have some real handy techniques for doing this type of work and it would be fun... I'll even try hard not to put any sh!t on anyone >_< okay... we all know I couldn't help myself.

I don't know if there is enough room here at my place, but its a thought - open for suggestions!

I'd be interested depending on the day its happening.

Bah im going to have to get to canberra at some ridiculous time to polish it before Marques, bugger spending hours cleaning then driving down Barton HWY in the early morning >_<

I'm interested

However the day before I will be at a wedding so here's 1 vote for an afternoon somewhere >_<

I was actually going to take the Friday off and do it then... it's a good excuse as any

Hmm, are you sure that you want an EX detailer showing the tricks of the trade...

I might have forgotten everything, it was about 3 years ago :D

Anyone who turns up with Franjipani's will be asked to leave and not turn up to Marques in the park either...

Yes... we're sure we want you to show us the tricks of the trade... even if they are three years old

okay... I'll beg :DMick

Well... Since youre begging.....

I'll think about it. :P

Okay Michael... enuff thinking, where and when? Jeno/Jo might be able to organise underground car park access so we are in the shade, but there won't be power (??? do we need power???)

What do we need Michael? And what day, Saturday or Sunday?

Hi Mick,

As Ladybytes says we just need a time/date of your willingness and what you need us to bring "armor all" j/k.

My weekend, like a few others is on hold until we know when you would like to run this session. My GF will book me out if I don't get there first.

Thanks

I'll tell you what, you guys organise time and place and I'll tell you whether I can make it or not.

Bring any cleaning products that you want and I'll make sure that I tell you if its worth using or not, dont forget a chamois and rags.

Remember that a wash isnt a wash if it doesnt end with a good chamoising!

You wont need power / electricity unless someone needs their car machine buffed (and Im not doing that because it takes hours).

Remember that everyone will need to wash their cars to begin with so we'll have to meet up somewhere and then head off to a car lovers somewhere.

I think maybe meet at the museum early on Friday, 6:30 or 7pm, may give us some light left, or meet somewhere like Brindabella business Park or Brand Depot car park (nice and central) on Sat or Sun sometime.

    • would a r34 gtr hood line up with gt/gtt stock fenders? after latch, front bumper and hinges are swapped for gtr ones? or would the fenders be too low or high in relation to the hood surface? ( I believe seeing somewhere that gtr front fenders use some type of riser for the sides, but do not know how that relates to stock gt/gtt fenders.)
    • You just need to remove the compressor housing, not the entire turbo. I would not be drilling and tapping anything with the housing still on anyways.
    • So, I put my boat on a boat. First of all, I'm going to come out and say it. Why is Tasmania not considered a holy goal, an apex that all road-legal modified cars go to, to experience? This place is an absolute wonderland of titanic proportions. If people are already getting club runs for once in a lifetime 30 person cruises to Tassy then I've never seemed to see it. It is like someone replaced the entire place with an idyllic wonderland for cars, and all of the people living there with paid actors who are kind, humble, and friendly. Dear god. After doing a lap of almost all of the place I've found that it's a great way to find out all of the little things that the car isn't doing quite right and a great way to figure it all out. All in all, I drove for 4 hours a day for a week and nothing broke. I didn't even need to open the engine bay. This is by all means a great success, but it has left me with a list of things to potentially address. I also now have a 3D printed wheel fitment tool which annoyingly hasn't got any threads in it to actually assemble it. I might be able to tape it together to check the sizing I actually want to use, but it'll likely involving pulling the shocks out to properly measure travel at least at the front, and probably raise the car while I'm at it, at least in the rear. I scraped on quite a few things and I'm not sure how else to go about it. I was taking anything with a bump at what felt like 89 degree angles. And address those 10 other tasks. And wash the car. God damn it is dirty. And somehow, the weather was perfect the entire time - And because I was on the top of Mt Wellington it turns out it was very much about to freeze up there. I did something I typically never do and took some photos up there in what must have been -10 and the foggy felt like suspended ice, rather than mere fog. If you own a car in Australia, you owe it to yourself to do it.
    • Damn that was hilarious, and a bit embarrassing for skylines in general 😂 vintage car life ey. That R33 really stomped. Pretty entertaining stuff
    • Hi, I have a r32 gtr transmission. Does any of you guys have an idea how much power it will hold with the billet center plate and stock gearset? At what power level and use did yours brake with or without billet plate? Thanks, Oystein Lovik
