Yet Another Problem

went for a drive today and i gave it a few squirts. nothing major.

boosted fine. As i took off from the lights i boosted to about 10 pound in 1st and then just nothing..... had no boost at all after that in 2nd. not even 1 pound boost.

checked all the cooler piping and i couldnt hear a vaccum leak whatsoever. when i drove home i could hear a slight whine.

help please

Metallic whine? Or sounds like air leaking?

Pop the intake pipe off the turbo and see if you can spin the compressor wheel.....

Hopefully you haven't shattered the turbine wheel, or broken a shaft

sounds like a metalic whine. we revved in neutral to see where it was comin from then i heard tapping from the motor like osmthing went inside it. after another rev it stopped. still whiney

blown turbo just as i thought. i had a mechanic just look at it. could hear it while we revved it slightly

i really dont know what to do now. the turbo is still under warranty and if all goes well il get it fixed, sell it and upgrade to a t4.

if u want a t04 i can get u 1 off pav, he's selling his but u'll need to change the rear housing. its got 1.15 rear that came off a truck i think. hes asking 650 for it as is with braided oil line i think. check out the for sale section.

That's gotta be pretty disheartening man. Especially just after you got it tuned. Maybe there was a problem to start with when it wasn't boosting properly to 18psi when creatd was trying to tune it....?

hmmmm now that i think about it yeah. something wasnt right. ive pm'd slide and jase said he'd get it sorted/ sent to the manufacturer for inspection

Go the GT35R... love mine... I have the external gated version with 0.63 rear.. my cat is melted atm (flow issues..lol) and being fixed on Friday with a retune - currently has 270rwkw on 15-16 psi (plenty to go) .... compared to the 263rwkw I had with the slide hi-flow the power delivery is completely different... you wont regret it.. . Its available in the IW version ... or if you want to retain the low mount setup GT30R or HKS equivalent perhaps..

Was heading out Wednesday to WSID to see the difference... but I think it will keep raining
