Basic, simple question to anyone running 10.5in wide rims on their R33 GTR's.

what offset do you have and are you satisfied with how they fit, sit in the guard, flush with the guard and no rubbing or scrubbing?

there is a 33 GTR that goes to allstar a bit, with 18x11 enkei rims on fit under the guards nice.. not sure on offset though..

Actually, he is on here, might give him a PM.

Thanks for reminding me Jamie, getting ready to upgrade from the TE37's I think.....just getting all my facts straight before I outlay many thousands on some quality wheels!

I have 18 x 10.5in Veilside rims on my 33 GTR. They came with the car. Not sure of the offset but the back is larger than the front and there are 5mm spacers on the front also. I'm currently running 275/35 R18 rubber on them and the side walls are stretched slightly.I don't have any problems with scrubbing.

hmmm might settle with the 9.5 +12 as I know they fit with the 18s on the car now.....just that its going to be an 8 week wait....can get 10.5 +22's now, but I'm being told they won't fit by a few different people.

im going 20x11.5 -5mm offset

on the rear of my 32 with GTR guards

its gonna sit right out, maybe 2mm outside the guard but with some stretched tyres and camber it should sit perfectly

dont be soft :(

Upgrade from yoiur te37's!!! is there such a thing! i would die for some te37's. They look awesome on your gtr, white on purple looks very nice. What would you like instead? If you have your te37's still nest yr i will be keen to buy them off you.. :)

it is an upgrade, lighter wheel, same brand, bit bigger, bit wider....always been a fan of what I'm getting, the colour is darker so less cleaning hassles. The TE37s are awesome wheels and the white does look great, but for a semi-daily driver it blows keeping them clean, and I'm sure Noy will agree with that! Dunno what to do with them yet, they need a bit of a touch up here and there, but nothing major!

New ones should arrive next week, I went with the 10.5+22 so we'll see how it goes!

They will fit easily...

Who makes 18x10.5 +22?

I run 18x10.5" +18 RE30's on my R33 GTR. No problems. I run 265 RE55's on them, but Ant has the same wheels on his 33GTR and ran 285' RE55's on them.

TE37 and LMGT4 are 18x10.5" +15 and they still fit.

sorry, I never mentioned 18s, the newies will be 19x10.5 +22 with 275/30/19

Any pics of yours Ferni, and Ants? Just to see how 10.5's look, also I really like the RE30's would have gotten them if they were available in 19s!

so your gonna be running 275 all round? no probs with the front that wide?

they are 275/35/18 on it now, all round, only minor rubbing on full lock, doing a uturn at a decent speed.

Interesting....as Ferni said I have had 285 x 35 x 18 RE55 on my 18 x 10.5 wide rims with no rubbing what so ever. Keep in mind that is RE55's which I believe are slightly wider than normal road rubber.

My RE30's are same size and offset as Ferni's....

Sorry i just assumed 18". Shouldn't make a difference being 19" since the tyre profile will be smaller to make it the same rolling diam.

Depends on your suspension geometry a bit as well if it will scrub or not. You may get a bit of rubbing on full lock at the front, but nothing to worry about. Rear you may need to get the guards rolled.

As Ant said, RE55 are a VERY wide tyre.. a 265 RE55 is more like a 275... so the 285 will be over 290...

I can see why....a good detail and some very minor touch-ups once they are off and they should come up nice, probably sell them to get some money back on the 19s, be great road or track wheels for someone!

Got the new wheels on Friday, and I reckon the bronze will look great with the purple and be alot easier to keep clean, they'll never look dirty....unfortunately the tyres I want are a 4-5week wait which I don't think I can cope with, so I might settle for a 265 rather than the 275, slight stretched look which will be fine.....undecided yet!

    • I thought that might be the case, thats what I'll start saving for. Thanks for the info
    • Ps i found the below forum and it seems to be the same scenario Im dealing with. Going to check my ECU coolant temp wire tomorrow    From NICOclub forum: s1 RB25det flooding at start up Thu Apr 11, 2013 7:23 am I am completely lost on this. Car ran perfectly fine when I parked it at the end of the year. I took the engine out and painted the engine bay, and put a fuel cell with an inline walbro 255 instead of the in tank unit I had last year. After reinstalling everything, the engine floods when the fuel pump primes. if i pull the fuel pump fuse it'll start, and as soon as I put the fuse back in it starts running ridiculously rich. I checked the tps voltage, and its fine. Cleaned the maf as it had some dust from sitting on a shelf all winter, fuel pressure is correct while running, but wont fire until there is less than 5psi in the lines. The fuel lines are run correctly. I have found a few threads with the same problem but no actual explanation of what fixed it, the threads just ended. Any help would be appreciated. I found the problem though. There was a break in one of the ecu coolant temp sensor wires. Once it was repaired it fired right up with no problems. I would have never thought a non working coolant temp sensor would have caused such an issue.
    • Hi sorry late reply I didnt get a chance to take any pics (my mechanics on the other side of the city) but the plugs were fouled from being too rich. I noticed the MAF wasn't genuine, so I replaced it with a genuine green label unit. I also swapped in a different ignitor, but the issue remains. I've narrowed it down a bit now: - If I unplug and reconnect the fuel lines and install fresh spark plugs, the car starts right up and runs perfectly. Took it around the block with no issues - As soon as I shut it off and try to restart, it won't start again - Fuel pressure while cranking is steady around 40 psi, injectors have good spray, return line is clear, and the FPR vacuum is working. It just seems like it's getting flooded after the first start I unplugged coolant sensors to see if its related to ECU flooding but that didnt make a difference. Im thinking its related to this because this issue only started happening after fixing coolant leaks and replacing the bottom part of the stock manifolds coolant pipe. My mechanic took off the inlet to get to get to do these repairs. My mechanics actually just an old mate who's retired now so ill be taking it to a different mechanic who i know has exp with RBs to see if they find anything. If you have any ideas please send em lll give it a try. Ive tried other things like swapping the injectors, fuel rail, different fuel pressure regs, different ignitor, spark plugs, comp test and MAF but the same issue persists.
