ok i want to put some globes into the standard bars fog lights where there is none at the moment .. there definitely is a hole there .. i dont' understand why they would put a hole there and not put any lights?? maybe because its just too hard to get down there?? anyways just wondering how u wire up the lights so that they turn on when the parkers turn on, and also how do i wire up neons which my cousin gave me so that it also turns on at the same time??

thanks ..

hippy,

i suggest you wire the lights up to the fog light switch that is already there (well there is one opn the r32s anyway) as it has its own fuse and too much current will not be an issue

if u wire it up to the parkers, it may (depending on the power rating of the globe) either blow the fuse or heat up the wires if it draws too much current

simply mount the lights, run a wire from the plug to the light then from the light back to the plug

btw... i just did this last weekend as i had no fog lights but a switch in the dash and plugs doing nothing in the engins bay!

Waz.

just wire them directly to the parker light wires. thats what i did when i had spotlights on, they were 35 watt H3 bulbs, no problems. but i suggest keep it low wattage, maybe even just small bulbs or LEDS in there cos u might blow a fuse or fry some wiring. I think im also gonna do that, put some lights in that empty area. It would look good with like blue LED's or sumthing! and yes u can get defected for having blue lights, i got fined for having blue lights in my car!

they were blue leds pointing outside the car, much like windscreen washer LEDS (which are illegal if blue) yeah he pulled me over for speeding then said those lights cannot be seen from the outside cos ppl might think ur a poilce vehilce! so i just paid the fine and took the lights off. However i still have blue lights everywhere ;) my mates got a 4wd and has a blue strobe light he pretends to pull ppl over but drive off when the stop hehe :D u can have blue lights in the car man just make sure they arent visible from outside like 2 m away

I hooked a set of 55w driving lights into the factory fog light leads on my 32, and the factory switch had no worries with it at all, only problem is that as they are larger than the wattage of the low beam lights, they have to turn off when the headlights are dipped, so am in the process of installing another switch and relay to give high beam switching. and it is a B*** pain in the a&** trying to find ANY particular wire under the dash in these damn things... jeez!

and Your right CMS Drifter, you can have any coloured light you like, as long as you can't see the source (ie globe, LED) from outside the car. Mate got pulled over about a week ago for a blue neon under his RX7, looked cool, even after moving it to a "safer" location...

scotty,

not sure about the r33 as i don't have one! my switch is above the instrument cluster on the border that surrounds the cluster.

it has the fuse located in the fuse area under the dash - look to see if u have a fuse for it and work back to see if there is a switch maybe

Waz.

    • Haha, i kow right? Could have bought so many cars for the same amount of money (or less) but driving Unicorn gives you at least +1mln to style 😅. Like wise man said "life's to short to drink cheap wine and drive boring cars" 😉
    • Newbie here, proud owner of an Autech 260RS. I'm on the hunt for wiring diagrams specific to the 260RS, particularly S1. I've ran my eyes through R33, R34 Diagrams, there are some similarities, however continue to find incorrect wire colours and pins on connectors in the 33,34 diagrams.   I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction? I'd be happy to pay for the originals in Japanese. I can translate them, at least they would be accurate.   Any help please would be greatly appreciated, never heard an RB26DETT before let alone driven one, and I've got a spaghetti monster of goodness to sort out.   Cheers Benny
    • Hey all  im wondering if you can help me please I have put a rb20 box in my r34 gtt as my auto packed up and a friend had a spare box I know it’s not ideal but it will get me up and running for now. we have done the conversation and everything is working great but my Speedo we got a s13 speed sensor but my Speedo reads double now and I bought a speed converter but still not having any luck.  so I thought I’ll reach out and pick your brains  any help would be appreciated please as I wanna drive my car again
    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
