Prohibited vehicles

The prohibited vehicle condition restricts provisional (P1 and P2) drivers from driving certain high performance vehicles. The condition applies to provisional licences issued on or after 11 July 2005

Yes before the Prohibited vehicles Law came out (11 July 2005) P1 AND P2's where allowed to drive Turbo cars. There was no markings of any restrictions on their license.

But the date is clear 11 July 2005. If you received your license before that date then you can drive turbo cars (ie. L's before 11 July 2005)

So you are asking if if can drive Turbo cars or not? See above.. comment.

if you are driving a turbo car on a licence that was issued after the new laws came in then you need to show that you are exempt. they give you a paper that you MUST have in the car at all times to show that you are exempt, so it doesn't mean a damn thing if your licence doesn't have any of the markings that it should.

You might get away with it. You might not.

If you come across a cop that does all the checks then expected to get reamed for more than just driving a turbo.

mmm not worth the risk, If you get caught they can probably slaughter you for altering your licence or something.

Correct.

To quote myself:

Provisional licenses (Ps) are a min of 3 years.

According to the below...If you received your "Ps" before 11 July 2005 then you do not have any restrictions in regards to cars

If you received your P1 (Red Ps) before 11 July 2005 and then got your P2 (Green Ps) after 11 July 2005 you still do not have any restrictions in regards to cars.

If however you had your L's before 11 July 2005 then got you got your P1's after 11 July 2005 then you are restricted to certain vehicles.

Well that's my logical deduction.

http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/licensing/gettin...ons.html?llid=4

The prohibited vehicle condition restricts provisional (P1 and P2) drivers from driving certain high performance vehicles. The condition applies to provisional licences issued on or after 11 July 2005. The scheme aims to prohibit young driver access to vehicles that are overrepresented in young driver crashes.

If you hit someone while driving a car you're not licensed to drive, expect to get reamed even harder in multiple ways when you have to pay that victim's medical expenses out of own pocket because you're not covered by CTP.

yeh thats what i was thinking, since you be driving a car your not licenced to drive then they'd prob do you for uninsured and all that shit even if they did pull you over, and yes cops can check up on you on their computer in the car, thats why they get your licence and go back to their car for a bit, check your record etc

im not sure about this but they'd probably do you for driving unlicenced or sum sh*t cause you wouldnt have a licence to drive a turbo car, its just not worth it imo

Just $400 for driving a prohibited vehicle and another $600 for altering a licence...............

I have my green p's and can drive turbo's but i had my red's before the laws came in...

I was thinking that as soon as these new laws came in I would be hassled a hell of a lot more by the cops cause of me driving a skyline with p's...but quiet the opposite... I have probably been pulled over 2 in the 12 months... none of which questiond me about the restriction... prior to the new laws i swear i used to get pulled over every weekend just for rbt n to check the car...

    • some days eh? The keyless entry and interior light on/off with the key will be controlled by the Body Control Module, but I'm not certain where that is or what it looks like (you might get lucky with a search to get a part#, which could be printed on it). I'd start at the A pillar/ Under dash/kick panel on the driver's side

    • I did end up getting it sorted, as GTSBoy said, there was a corroded connection and wire that needed to be replaced. I ended up taking out the light assembly, giving everything a good clean and re-soldered the old joints, and it came out good.
    • Wow, thanks for your help guys 🙏. I really appreciate it. Thanks @Rezz, if i fail finding any new or used, full or partial set of original Stage carpets i will come back to you for sure 😉 Explenation is right there, i just missed it 🤦‍♂️. Thanks for pointing out. @soviet_merlin in the meantime, I received a reply from nengun, and i quote: "Thanks for your message and interest in Nengun. KG4900 is for the full set of floor mats, while KG4911 is only the Driver's Floor Mat. FR, RH means Front Right Hand Side. All the Full Set options are now discontinued. However, the Driver's Floor Mat options are still available according to the latest information available to us. We do not know what the differences would be, but if you only want the one mat, we can certainly see what we can find out for you". Interesting. It seems they still have some "new old stock" that Duncan mentioned 🤔. I wonder if they can provide any photos......And i also just realized that amayama have G4900 sets. I'm tempted too.
