Duncan
Good input there adam, thanks. Surely nissan will load some extra locations in to the computer as not limited? Either way, I'm sure both GTRs that are coming along will be pretty damn un-fiddled Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/195279-2008-targa-tasmania/page/2/#findComment-3556652 Share on other sites
Roy
Surely the GTR will have to be close to the perfect Targa car? I suppose the weight has to work against it on such a long rally with regards to tyre wear. But from what i have read the thing is so smart that in all conditions and speeds the car just gets the job done, no fuss, no panic. Being so easy to drive at stupid speeds will help drivers starve off errors and drive more consistantly. They do have massive wheels anyway, so perhaps tyre wear wont be so bad. But interesting to see how the car goes...on paper the journalists have you believe that an P-Plater will punt the thing quicker then the average gun in whatever car they pilot Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/195279-2008-targa-tasmania/page/2/#findComment-3556687 Share on other sites

Either way, I'm sure both GTRs that are coming along will be pretty damn un-fiddled Apparently the US version will have a blanket 250k limiter, JP version is GPS limited 180k, but unrestricted for tracks Linky I'll be interested to see how the R35 goes against Targa spec GT-R's, that have more power, and are heaps lighter. t01-100
If you stare at the pink GTR for long enough you spontaneously projectile vomit. such a shoddy rendering as well, the A pillars arent even the same colour...whatd they do? get the bosses son to colour it in? donut king can go eat a dick. thanks for your constructive input... clearly you've been too busy eating dicks to notice that the a-pillar is black plastic from the factory, so painting it would detract from the factory styling! t01-100
a fix for the 180k limit will remain an unknown until the car arrives in the country in a few weeks. hopefully it can be overcome in time. the fact that suitable 20" r tyres do not currently exist is a more significant issue... the car will either run road tyres at the event, or smaller rims. these are just some of the problems you encounter when you're setting a new trend, but good on tony for putting his money where is mouth is. mild25/30
Lets just hope the GTR doesnt make the trip home as hand luggage like so many other exotics over the years...! Will be good to see one put through its paces in a good pair of hands Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/195279-2008-targa-tasmania/page/2/#findComment-3562258 Share on other sites

MADGT4
From what ive seen in a youtube video... "Circuit" Mode can be selected which disables the 180km/h limiter. Although there is a disclaimer prior to it going into this mode that you have to agree to... I will try to find the video on youtube again.
