I've decided to upgrade my brakes again (to the G4 8 piston ones from Just Jap) so my old set up are for sale.

This is ready to fit to a stagea:

GTR 4 piston calipers (newly rebuilt with nissan seals)

DBA 4000 series slotted rotors

Bendix Ultimate pads

Shims and clips (you will need to source caliper to hub bolts I need them!)

Banjo bolts and copper washers so you can use standard brakes lines

The discs and pads are near new about 2000klm on them.

I'm sure this setup is fine for most, I just thought it was still a bit marginal for the towing I do.

$500 firm, pickup in Sydney (no sorry posting it would be too much stuffing around).

Sorry just curious what has made you go out and buy this set up? I dont have any personel experience with the product but as always you hear guys saying that they are crap, or they dont look like a sound product etc etc etc. I was considering buying them also but have not had heard anyones experience with them as to how really good and reliable they are yet, so i am holding of till i get some info on what the product is really like.

Have you got any info if the product is good as it would make for a really great brake package for me if they are reliable and safe, any feedback would be great.

well I personally think these are a great set up. I put them on because I had them lying around (took them off my gtr race car when I put bigger brakes on this). I've only taken them off the stagea now because I think they are still a little small when I am dragging around over 4 tonnes (1800 car + 200 people +500 trailer +1500 GTR)

Only people I've seen complaining about the GTR brakes are either doing a lot of track work (presumably not a problem for most stageas) or the haven't serviced the calipers or bled the brakes properly. This setup comes with good discs, good pads and rebuilt calipers so its a great upgrade, especially for the price

Hi Duncan,

Couple of questions:

- Do you know if this will suit a S2 Stagea without the use of adapters?

- How old are the calipers?

- Would you be prepared for me to organise a courier to pick it up from you (at work maybe if more suitable)?

Thanks.

Tee

Hi again Duncan,

Sorry a couple more questions:

- What year/model GTR are the calipers from?

- What model Bendix pads?

- What model DBA Rotors?

hi Tee,

1991 GTR. Rebuilt with new seals about 2000klm ago

Bendix Ultimates (DB1170)

DBA Slotted Rotors (DBA4926S (L and R of course).

and pm responded to

Thanks Duncan.

I had a chat with my mechanic and he reckons we should be on a winner. I'll head to the bank at lunch to put the money in your account. Should be there by 2PM.

I'll let you know when it's done.

Tee

    • Yeah I also looked at Plazmaman, but, it ended up alot  cheaper getting black ones through EFI when you also added in the delivery cost
    • Nice shot! They look super clean. The roof rack delete on the black one is interesting. Would like to see more pictures from different angles. It's subtle but could make quite a difference to how the car looks in profile.
