it looks really nice in Red...nice photos mate. did it look agile around the circuit or still too heavy?

it looked and sounded great on the circuit. very stable, not much roll at all, so if you just saw it humming around a circuit you would not know how heavy it is. looked very sharp on change of direction under the dunlop bridge too.

maj, flappy paddle looks and sounds awesome. superfast shifts with just a mili second of rev cut as it bangs up through the box. i think the DSG will be awesome. a friend in japan has driven one and he loved it. :P

Interesting how everyone that has not seen the car in the flesh or driven it has an opinion on how shitty the dsg gearbox is. The car looked very capable around the track and as far as i could tell the dsg seemed awsome seemless shifts so much so that you could hardly tell that it was shifting. And i doubt that the weight will be an issue as it was lapping at a good pace for a standard car around a very tight and tricky circuit ( Mark will attest to how tricky this circuit actually is as i dont think gran turismo can give an accurate grasp on some very technical parts of the circuit) . I think once the modified examples are unveiled they will silance all critics

No not yet mate still cruising around japan will be home in a few days. Will give you a call when i get home and will catch up for a few beers and a review of some of the pics and footage from the trip. Amazing how quick things get around the net posted the info about the chat i had with the mines engineer at tsukuba and just saw the new thread witha link to GTR blog and it seems they have picked up on it along with a few of the Barons pics. You would think they could come up with a scoop of there own hey just wondering if i can get some sort of commision now lol.

lol, they used my pics with permision :P and I had the shame chat with a mines man and nikurra-san, and they gave out the list of parts available. so he may have been referring to me, though I think you definitely posted first so maybe they just repeated your info. but if you can get paid for it, put me next in line! beer baron is not too proud to accept charity!

LOL was just having a dig as it seems that they have copied my post word for word. But in saying that I am not adverse to accepting some form of payment if it happens to come my way. Was i bit of a shame i did not get to meet you over there as i am sure we probably unknowingly walked past each other on several occasions.

    • HELP   Hey all, Is there an accelerator cable from another Nissan that can be used on the R33 GTST RB25DET with a Greddy forward facing plenum?  Thanks in advance  Rob
    • Or do we think it was installed to give 1 bar of boost max, all day, everyday?
    • So could it be assumed it has been installed intentionally with potentially a power FC boost controller kit?
    • Had my rig on Matt's dyno at PITS the other day. After a few years between tunes I added a few sensors and swapped intercoolers. Result. 553hp at 26psi. Not bad for an FJ20 that was built in 2007. The problem.. It filled the overflow bottle on hard runs which leads me to believe the head gasket isn't sealing. I have a coolant pressure sensor which was reading cap pressure at 22psi and occasionally overrunning to 23/24 psi on deceleration after a pull. It was not spiking. It has arp2000 head studs and a cometic gasket. As its been 18 years in service, I pulled the engine out and head off. Everything looks good but we obviously have an issue. Where I'm at.. Years ago I had the same issue, I checked the stud tension and they were all over the place. Some at 60 to 70 and some up near 90. I nipped them all to 100ft lbs and this stopped the water push until now. I believe this compromised the gasket back then. What do I do? 2 options are..  1) I bought arp 625+s, which I could put in with a new gasket. Thinking Kameari this time, reassemble and try again. 2) strip the block, get fire rings machined in with copper gasket and try that. I do not want to push it more than 28 to 30psi. I think the turbo will be out by then anyway. (G30-770). My other concern is the long term ability of a copper head gasket. Are they streetable for years? I feel like a new gasket with the new studs will probably suffice, but I don't know. Any thoughts welcome and advice on copper gaskets and fire rings. Thanks!
    • I'm a fan of the JZX110, and the Aristo. Big cruiser cars, and with the factory cars, super comfortable and feel like you're driving an armchair! And the JZ motors are a pretty nice engine too, especially with some basic mods.   The import process, and the need to be able to trust people, and the fact there's so many scammers around is what ever puts me off wanting to go through that ordeal!
