Does the phrase half cut mongrel enter anyone elses mind. I have no idea why people would basterdise a good car by adding a heap of fibreglass and bog to it. I hate any of those half this half that cars except the r34 front on a stagea as it seems to be the only conversion with any merrit just my opnion .

just my opnion

exactly...

I was thinking of doing this conversion myself until xmas time and rego sent me broke, but we'll see in the new year...

Its not as expensive (apparently) as youd think, ive had a word with the guys at Uras who've done a few of these conversions, and (once again, apparently) theres no real crazy modifications needed.

All that is needed for this to work is:

R33/34 conversion fenders - $300-400 roughly

R34 headlights - $5-600 plus

R34 bonnet - around $2-300 or go aftermarket which is around $500

R34 front bar - $1-200 or once again aftermarket $3-400

Budget around $2000 which should be enough. And if you can source the front panels which are the same colour as your car you are laughing!

Those conversion fenders are popping up all over the place now, so they are not that hard to come by. The only thing thats hard to find ive found is the R34 headlights, and if you can source them they are generally quite expensive...

If your going to do it, good luck and take many a picture!!!

people do this because apart from the front nose all r34 look shit house. the rear is 10 metres off the ground and porpoise like a bitch. they are big fat bricks with no incling of aerodynamics.

atleast here u still have the nice flowing lines of a r33 with the sharp bulbous nose of the 34.

best of both worlds

u see how it looks low and sharp. where as if he bought a 34 is would look shit

u r a f**king idiot if u think that an r33 has better aerodynamics then an r34 then ur just a retard!!!!!!!

Saw something weird as today - a s15 body with a R34 head but with WRX doors...pretty hot....

Was this in the West again? That's some weird conversion.

Come on now... No need for that. We all know R32 has the best aerodynamics.

hhhmmmm. yea that explains why r34's have a severe porpoising problem (!)

r33's squat lower and are far more stable.

im just saying this from seeing hill climbs, talking to drivers

and driving an r33 and an r34.

i think the r33 has best handling and stability.

i have only had a short squirt in a r32 gtst, so i cant really comment on a r32, all i can say is if u have a r32 gtst your gay. soo guttless

Cant really comment on drivability... but I think R33 looks much tougher.

Yeah, good to see that you're laughing... :(

But sorry to say, a R33 GTR does look tougher than the R34.... but then the R35 owns all... totally up to the eye of the beholder. :P

I have to agree with the R34 guys, the 34 looks better. The back end is pretty tall, noticed on a SAU cruise, but I'd still love one. That said, I think the R33/4 hybrid looks awesome, and is something different at least. Would like to see pics of one without the wide guards though.

    • Yeah i found that alot of parts can be wrong or "very" hard to get the real right one. I already bought some brakes years ago on me "old" GT calipers and they were wrong too 😄  I told them too. Even send them pictures...but they said "EBC catalogue has them on my car... So i dont know what their answer will be. I call monday them and let them know that they are really not on my car. If they were they would be already on a car...
    • Welcome to Skyline ownership. Yes, it is entirely possible parts websites get things wrong. There's a whole world of inaccuracies out there when it comes to R34 stuff (and probably 33 and 32). Lots of things that are 'just bolt on, entirely interchangable' aren't. Even between S1 and S2 R34's. Yes they have a GTT item supposedly being 296mm. This is incorrect. I would call whoever you got them from and return them and let them know the GTT actually uses 310mm rotors. Depending on where you got them from your experience and success will obviously vary.
    • Hi...a bit a "development" on the brakes. I spoke to the guys where i get brakes from...and they are saying that 296mm EBC are for R34 GT-T. I then went to their site: https://www.ebcbrakes.com/vehicle/uk-row/NISSAN/Skyline (R34)/ and search for my car(R34 GT 1998 - it has GTT brakes) and it show me this USR1229 number and they are rly 296mm rotors... So now iam rly confused... The rotors i have now on the car are 310mm asi shown... So where is the problem? Does the whole EBC got it wrong or my calipers are just...idk know what?
    • Oh What the hell, I used to get a "are you sure you want to reply, this thread is XX months old" message. Maybe a software update remove that. My bad.
    • This is a recipe for disaster* Note: Disaster is relative. The thing that often gets lost in threads like this is what is considered acceptable poke and compromise between what one person considers 'good' looks and what someone else does. The quoted specs would sit absurdly outside the guards with the spacers mentioned and need  REALLY thin tyres and a LOT of camber AND rolling the guards to fit. Some people love this. Some people consider this a ruined car. One thing is for certain though, rolling the guards is pretty much mandatory for any 'good' fitment (of either variety). It is often the difference between any fitment remotely close to the guards. "Not to mention the rears were like a mm from hitting the coilovers." I have a question though - This spec is VERY close to what I was planning to buy relative to the inboard suspension - I have an offset measuring tool on the way to confirm it. When you say "like a mm" do you mean literally 1mm? Or 2mm? Cause that's enough clearance for me in the rear :p I actually found the more limiting factor ISNT the coilover but the actual suspension arms. Did you take a look at how close those were?
