lol dude, im not sure where u got the terms photo-cloning/swap switching...etc.., mayb thas what ppl call it, i find the best way to change the color of anything short of using a million tools and doin it slowly and in portions, like say when u photoshop a person to add make up, remove skin discoloration etc... is to 'colorize' the section u want to change color...

so, to start with, once u bring an image into photoshop, in the layers bar to the right you should see the image as a single layer, and it should have a little 'lock' symbol next to it.

double click this symbol and click 'ok' on the box that pops up, (this allows you to edit the layer)

now u need to learn how to use the pen tool(if you dont know how already), its not too hard and will be ur best friend, seriously, once u know how to use the pen tool, use it to outline the section of the image that you want colored,

(to use the pen tool for those who dont know, just click down the mouse for the first point along the outside of the image your outlining, the click at another point along the outside and whilst holding the mouse down, drag out one of the little bezier handles to make the line curve (if it needs to be curved) else dont drag the line and move onto the next point, after you have curved the line, hold the 'alt' key and click on the point on the line that you just created.

this prevents the line going all wonky when u go to create your next point.

continue placing points and curving the line where necessary and the 'alt' clicking on the point after curving the line until you join your line back at the beginning

)

ok, so once you have your outline, right click in the centre of the shape you just created and choose 'make selection' from the pop out menu.

now hold down 'ctrl' and press the letter 'u'

this will bring up the colorize filter menu

once here click on the check box in the bottom right corner of the window labelled 'colorize'

now move the sliders left and right, the top is for the 'hue' (the color), the middle is for the 'saturation' (the amount of color put onto the image) and the bottom is the 'lightness' (how light or dark the selection is)

so play with these sliders until you get the color you want, and click ok, and hey presto, a nicely colored car...

hope this helps...

if i get the chance, ill play wit those pics a lil for ya too...

steve

    • just an update to this, poor man pays twice  Tried sanding down the pulleys but it didnt do the trick. Chucked another second hand alternator in the na car which I got for free off my mate and its fixed the squelling. Must have been unlucky with the bearings.    As for my turbo car, I managed to pick up a cwc rb alternator conversion bracket + LS alternator for 250 off marketplace, looked to be in really good nick. Installed it , started the car and its not charging the battery.... ( Im not good with auto elec stuff so im not sure if this was all I needed to do but I verified such by using a multimeter on the battery when the engine was running and I was only getting 12.2v )   I had to modify the earth strap for the new LS alternator , factory earth strap was a 10mm bolt which did not fit the bolt on the LS alternator which was double the size so I cut it off , went to repco bought some ring terminals that fit, crimped it onto the old earth strap and bolted it up to the alternator , started the car and same issue. Ran like shit and was reading 12.2 at the battery.  For a "plug and play" advertised kit thats not very plug and play but alas.  My question is , am I missing something ? Ive been reading that some people recommend upgrading the stock 80 amp alternator fuse to a 140 amp but I dont see how that would stop the alternator charging especially at idle not under load.  Regardless ive pulled it out and am going to get it bench tested by an auto elec tomorrow but it would be handy to know if ive missed something silly or have done something wrong.
    • My wild guess is that you have popped off an intake pipe....check all of the hoses between the turbo and the throttle for splits or loose clamps.
    • Awesome, thanks for sharing!
    • To provide more specific help, more information is needed. What Android screen? What is its wiring diagram? Does the car's wiring have power at any required BAT and ACC wires, and is the loom's earth good?
    • So, now all you need to do is connect the 2 or 3x 12v feeds into the unit to permanent 12v, ACC 12V and IGN 12V that you can find in the spot behind the stereo, and the earth, and then it will switch on with the car.
