Skyline R32 Problem With Reverse Gear?

hey guys just wondering ive had this problem for a while with my r32..the reverse gear doesnt want to go in sometimes like the first time..i have to put it in a different gear then try agen or let go of clutch then put it back in and try again..and then when i actually do reverse it makes like tapping noises like somethings touching??? has it happened to anyone else before and what did you do? or if you might know what it is let me know..cheers

Mmm I've had troubles getting a car into reverse but never a tapping noise..

I lost my reverse totally once....had the box out and is was the reverse lockout spring that had collapsed....was a cheap and easy fix.

Happend to me, was the reverse lockout spring. Cost $2 from nissan. Undo your crossmember bolts and lower the box down slowly. To the left of hte shifter theres a cover, beneath that they'll be a broken spring.

hey cheers guys if only i knew how to do anything yous were saying id be happier hahah but yer ill jus have to let my mechanic know. cheers guys
