How much performance can you get out of these little fins. I mean what take .1 of a second off your 1/4 mile time or...? Also they quote 2 give you better fuel economy. If you drive a performance car of any type im not to sure you should be worrying about that extra few k's/litre you are getting. If it floats your boat though its your own car. Not my piece of cake though.

LOLZ! As fuel prices rise we may see more of this and other crazy stunts appearing...!! :P

"dependent " =)

lol - well no wing means they do nothing

so its effectives is kinda determined by the rest of the aero package hahaha

alright alright - dependant :P

well i havent seen specific data relating to the drop in the drag coefficient of the vehicle, if they do drop that then yes the fuel economy can effected for the better

That, and they are only going to really do anything at high speed. Hell most wings etc dont even start to work up over 120 or so.

Its a pointless mod.

Although this supra sounds like it looks a little like a hedgehog, so Im sure that has some comic value.

id be thrilled to knock a .1sec off my quarter mie time... if i thought these would do it id buy em.

As it is, they seem a lil bit ghey.

Employ some common sense.

Yes i remember buying $10 parts in the hope that they'll make my car faster. Bt they were things like spark plugs... CAI piping... water induction.... etc

A good clue is that this thread isin the 'cosmetic and styling mods' section, not the performance area. :-)

these versions do not look as good as some others that are avaialble

as for quatermile time, that would be hard to test without a wind tunnel.

zcarparts.com have some really nice Carbon ones for sale

as for reading 0.1 seconds into the fins, i doubt it, the design is to aid in increasing downforce generated by your rear wing ..

I do have some common sense thankyou. The topic is named "Wow! These Must Work" obviously a little bit of sarcasm...

Hence my "sarcastic" comment on 1/4 mile times and fuel econ...

LoL!! is this the black supra? its the ugliest thing iv ever seen! i couldnt stop laughing tho, cracked me up hard!! he has around 40-50 of them all over the roof! :laughing-smiley-014: :laughing-smiley-014: :laughing-smiley-014:

Yup, thats the one. He parked right next to me in Footscray and trying to look tough taking his mum shopping hahahaha.

I'll try get some snaps of his car if I see him around Footscray.

the car is fully riced!

Used Vortex spikes - I think there was 20 in each pack - I bought 2... so yeah, whatever that's left, wanna get rid of them.

Interested, PM me and they're yours.

I got the proper ones on now - looks nicer as the spikes are bigger.

But these ones aren't too bad either.

Spunky, do you have a photo of them on ur car? When I saw them I could see the potential in them to look good, but couldnt work out if they did or not. I'd be really interested to see them

Yeah sure, this a old picture of my car before a full respray, new wings and new Evo 6 spikes... but yeah, you'll get an appreciation for them.... let me know if you want to buy them.

    • Then, shorten them by 1cm, drop the car back down and have a visual look (or even better, use a spirit level across the wheel to see if you have less camber than before. You still want something like 1.5 for road use. Alternatively, if you have adjustable rear ride height (I assume you do if you have extreme camber wear), raise the suspension back to standard height until you can get it all aligned properly. Finally, keep in mind that wear on the inside of the tyre can be for incorrect toe, not just camber
    • I know I have to get a wheel alignment but until then I just need to bring the rear tyres in a bit they're wearing to the belt on the inside and brand new on the outside edge. I did shorten the arms a bit but got it wrong now after a few klms the Slip and VDC lights come on. I'd just like to get it to a point where I can drive for another week or two before getting an alignment. I've had to pay a lot of other stuff recently so doing it myself is my only option
    • You just need a wheel alignment after, so just set them to the same as current and drive to the shop. As there are 2 upper links it may also be worth adding adjustable upper front links at the same time; these reduce bump steer when you move the camber (note that setting those correctly takes a lot longer as you have to recheck the camber at each length of the toe arm, through a range of movement, so you could just ignore that unless the handling becomes unpredictable)
    • I got adjustable after market rear camber arm to replace the stock one's because got sick of having to buy new rear tyres every few months. Can anyone please let me know what the best adjustment length would be. I don't have the old ones anymore to get measurements. I'm guessing the stock measurement minus a few mm would do it. Please any help on replacing them would be fantastic I've watched the YouTube clips but no-one talks about how long to set the camber arm to.
    • Heh. I copied the link to the video direct, instead of the thread I mentioned. But the video is the main value content anyway. Otherwise, yes, in Europe, surely you'd be expected to buy local. Being whichever flavour of Michelin, Continental or Pirelli suits your usage model.
