Hi guys my r33 gtst is currently running 171rwkw with std turbo set at 10 psi SAFC2 walbro pump and cat back kakimoto exhaust hks pod R34 SMIC.

Question is will there be much gain on adding a high flow cat and also a dump pipe (current dump = std).

And what are the cat and dump from JJR like?

Thanks

JJR dump pipe is brilliant ...

excellent fit ... superb flow ...

when i fitted mine up boost jumped from standard 7 psi to 14psi ... which obviously caused issues with the standard ecu ...

the only trouble is that one of the turbo water lines need to be slightly bent to ensure enough clearance.

Just Jap don't make their own high flow cats though they use x-force ones :woot:

best bet ... get a JJR split dump pipe and a high flow metal cat or catco cat :)

hmmm i had the same problem with the JustJap split dump pipe so i exchanged it for a Xforce Bell Mouth dump but yeah go the Hi flow cat or maybe the cat replacement pipe? im sure you'll get a gain but as said before the side mount could be changed for front mount i guess....:)

Cheers

Chi

his got a r34smic(good for upto 220rwkw on rb20det's) his currently running 171rwkw.

get the combined dump and front pipe and 3" high flow cat dude. whether its a split or bellmouth dump thats up to you.

when you change turbos THEN grab a fmic.

goodluck

Some members claim that xforce cats are good...and i have no reason to doubt them...but personally i steer clear from them...

I had one on my R32 Gtst with a HKS2535 and after tune i only got 200rwkw...that was really low and my tuner and i were scratching our heads trying to find the cause of the low power...a restrictive cat was a possible cause...i decided to go for it and shelled out $400 for a Metal cat...immediately the difference was noticeable with boost coming on much earlier and harder...a retune and run on the dyno saw a decent power increase with power rising from 200 to 215rwkw with just the change of the cat and a retune...midrange also improved tremendously...obviously the power gain was also due the the fact that my tuner could dial in alot more ignition timing due to the reduced restriction in the exhaust...but it proved that in my case the xforce cat was crap...

Take what you will from this but i hope it is reason enough to pass on the xforce cat...and as for the dump pipe...yes there will be a noticeable increase so if you don't have one already then go for it...

I have had good results with the magnaflow ones too...i'd be inclined to go magnaflow over xforce...and recently the metalcats seem to be having a bad rep due to it collapsing...hasn't happened with mine but i'll monitor it...

$250 for a 4" one seems decent...

    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
    • Nice car! I’m glad folks in the US have gotten past the FnF and are buying real cool cars like the 260RS I was with a bunch of mates in Portland about a year ago and spotted a green Stagea (just a regular 2.5T AWD) parked about 2 blocks away and they were like “a what?” So I made a bet with them for a round of beers and said “ok one of you run down there and tell me if the steering wheel is on the correct side” 5 mins later the American comes trudging back up the hill and goes “he’s right guys. Ok what beer do you want?”
    • Should replace OR drop the tank, give it's good clean. Might be worth replacing that entire fuel level/pump/cradle thing with this: https://frenchysperformancegarage.com/products/fpg-s13-180sx-r32gtst-single-pump-hanger-kit-billet-hat-6-v3-fpg-089?gQT=2
